Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Pawn of Prophecy", who tells Garion "On your feet, rabbit."?

Answer: Silk

After Garion, Polgara, Belgarath and Durnik left Faldor's farm, they turned off the road to meet some companions. Garion panicked when he saw Barak's outline in the darkness and took off running. Silk caught him and brought him back to the others. Hetter doesn't join the party until later.
2. Which member of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers said "There's no such thing as an innocent. All men are born corrupt." in "Magician's Gambit"?

Answer: Beldin

I love Beldin. He's got such a wonderful way of expressing his opinions. When the party reached the Vale, after visiting with the Dryads, Belgarath figured out how Zedar took the Orb. Zedar had used a child that he had raised in total innocence. Polgara and Belgarath had to talk to Aldur, and Garion is beginning to understand his powers before they all start the trip to Rak Cthol.
3. In "Queen of Sorcery", who inquires of Silk "What are you up to now?"?

Answer: Bethra

Although I'm sure that everyone has asked Silk this same question once or twice, this particular time it was Bethra, a harlot in Tol Honeth that is a friend of Silk's. She came on them in the street while they were waiting for Belgarath, Barak and Grinneg. Bethra gives Silk information about the activities of the Murgos in the city because she "likes him".
4. Who asks Relg "Just who was it that advised you of your election?" in "Magician's Gambit"?

Answer: The Gorim

Relg is refusing to join the quest to reclaim the Orb because Ul told him that he would find the next Gorim and must see to his rearing. It seems the Gorim is a little tired of Relg and his overzealousness. After they all argue for a while, Ul shows up and orders Relg to follow Belgarath. Not surprisingly, Relg obeys.
5. Barak says "Dead is dead.".

Answer: false

Strangly enough, it's the gentle Durnik that says this after he chases a Murgo into a quicksand bog and watched him go down. He tells Barak that he "doesn't really like hitting people." From "Magician's Gambit".
6. In "Castle of Wizardry" who remarks "I'm thirsty Garion, not dirty."?

Answer: Silk

Silk asked for something to drink, remarkable since he'd spent the night before drinking in Boktor. When Garion kindly offers him some water, this is his witty and slightly hungover response. After he looks around a bit, he informs Belgarath and Garion that "there is nothing in between us and the pole to break the wind but an occasional stray reindeer." I guess he's back to his old self again.
7. "And it's always been done this way." Who says this?

Answer: Anheg

"Enchanters' End Game". It seems that King Anheg is a little slow to accept change sometimes. When it's time to portage the Cherek warships to the eastern escarpment in Algaria, Durnik is terribly shocked to see the Cherek method of moving their ships on land.

When he approaches King Anheg about it, this was Anheg's reply. Things got moving faster after Durnik talked to Barak and Greldik. It's easy to follow tradition when you're not the one doing the pushing.
8. In "Enchanters' End Game", who offhandedly mentions "That wasn't my wine, I stole it this morning."?

Answer: Yarblek

After Garion and Silk manage to be conscripted by the Malloreans, Yarblek shows up and with a little play acting and some very accurate sniper fire, rescues them. He gave some wine to a Mallorean guard who spilled it after he was shot. It seems that while Yarblek is rescuing them, he's really just after them for King Drosta, who wants the Drasnian kings' help in removing some pesky Malloreans from Gar og Nadrak. Silk directs him to send Yarblek to Queen Porenn.
9. In "Castle of Wizardry",who asks Hettar "Is that all you ever think about?"?

Answer: Barak

Once Belgarath's party has recovered the Orb and safely arrived at the Stronghold in Algaria, Barak takes a moment to chastise Hetter for not letting them know the Algars were watching every known pass through the escarpment for Belgarath and the others.

Hetter, with his usual quiet practicality, tells Barak that they couldn't let them know because "The Murgos might have seen us, and we didn't want to frighten them off."
10. Who said "Put an Algar on a horse and show him a hill he hasn't seen the backside of yet, and he'll always find an excuse to go take a look."?

Answer: Rhodar

From "Enchanters' End Game". Rhodar tells Cho-Hag this when the Algars were "protesting" the loss of their rest to ensure the forts' security. Algar clansmen, during their rest breaks from long range attacks, would patrol around the forts in a game they called "Murgo hunting". Everyone needs a hobby right?
