In an old house that was being torn down, she discovered a blue bottle with a piece of paper in it. The paper was written by four girls -- Leticia, Adora, Mary Love, and Eleanor -- detailing their homes and dreams for the future. Brendan was intrigued and thought it would make a great TV special, so she set out to find them.

Brendan was able to speak with Dorothy, an old friend of Leticia's (also called Tish). A professional artist saw her work and was very impressed. He arranged to have an exhibit for her in New York City. She liked the city life at first, but finally decided it wasn't for her, and she'd rather go back to the convent.
