Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" which of the following was not a member of the team of specialists that accompanied Milo Thatch on the expedition to Atlantis?

Answer: Shepherd

"The Shepherd's Journal" was the manuscript that contained directions to the lost island. The expedition crew consisted of Commander Rourke, Vinny, Dr Sweet, Cookie, Mole, Mrs. Packard, and Audrey.
2. Which of the following is the name of a Princess from a Disney movie?

Answer: Eilonwy

Princess Eilonwy was from the Disney movie "The Black Cauldron", although she was not used in the princess line of merchandising. Eilonwy is a 12 year old girl and is fairly strong willed. She was captured early on but later was an important part of the adventure. Princess Kida from Atlantis was not used in the princess line either. Though not the answer, the other three options may have been familiar names. Merryweather was one of the fairies from "Sleeping Beauty", Drizella was one of Cinderella's step sisters, and Shanti was the girl that Mowgli followed at the end of "The Jungle Book".
3. Which of these stories was NOT featured in the film "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh"?

Answer: Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore

There was a short called "Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore" that Disney commissioned, but this was years later and not part of the film "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh". The other three were all stories from the film. "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree" was the story from which we got the quote "tut tut it looks like rain".

This was said by Christopher Robin to trick the bees into thinking Winnie was "just a little black raincloud, hovering under the honey tree". "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" featured Pooh bear's very peculiar dream about having his honey stolen by "heffalumps and woozles".

In "Winnnie the Pooh and Tigger Too", we learned about Christopher Robbin's orange striped friend who was "Bouncy trouncy flouncy pouncy, fun fun fun fun fun", and "the only one" of his kind.
4. What kind of animal from "The Jungle Book" has the word "Khan" in his/her name?

Answer: tiger

"Shere Khan" means means "lion king" in Hindustani. This is somewhat ironic given that in "The Jungle Book" Shere Khan is a tiger. Shere Khan was one of the primary villains of the story, and hates Mowgli simply because he is human. The panther in "The Jungle Book" was named Bagheera, and the python's name was Kaa. Though Kaa was a villain in the movie, he was actually a good guy in the book.
While we are on this topic of lions and kings, the next question will be about "The Lion King".
5. In "The Lion King", what kind of animal was Rafiki?

Answer: Mandrill

Rafiki was actually a Mandril. Rafiki was correct when he spoke about himself in the following conversation:
Rafiki: "Asante sana Squash banana, Wiwi nugu Mi mi apana!"
Simba: "Enough already! What's that supposed to mean, anyway?"
Rafiki: "It means you're a baboon... and I'm not."
Adult Simba: "I think you're a little confused."
Rafiki: "Wrong! I'm not the one who's confused. You don't even know who you are!"
6. Which of the following was NOT one of the three fates from "Hercules"?

Answer: Alcmene

The three fates were Clotho, Atropos, and Lachesis. They used a magical eyeball to see people's future. They passed this eye between the three of them when making predictions. Alcmene was actually the human mother who raised Hercules on Earth. Amphitryon was Hercules' adoptive human father. His real parents are easier to remember as there are the god Zeus and the goddess Hera.
7. In the movie "The Emperor's New Groove", what was the name of the wife of the peasant who helps reform Emperor Kuzco?

Answer: Chicha

The peasant character who reformed the Emperor in "The Emperor's New Groove" was named Pacha and his wife was named Chicha. His daughter was named Chacha and his son was named Tipo. In the direct to DVD sequel it is said that the old man who gets thrown out of Kuzco's window at the beginning of the movie is named Rudy.

Originally "The Emperor's New Groove" was going to be called "The Kingdom of the Sun" and was being directed by Roger Allers who worked on "The Lion King". At the time it was going to be more of an epic tale apposed to the comedy it became.

After the production ran into some difficulties, Allers quit the team and the project was dropped for some time. It was later picked up again with a severe revamp of the story and made into the comedy it is now.
8. The Disney character with the first name Timothy and the middle initial Q was of which species of animal?

Answer: Mouse

The character's full name was Timothy Q. Mouse, and he was the animal who gave Dumbo the confidence to be able to fly. He original did so by tricking him into thinking he had a magic feather but later revealed that Dumbo was flying on his own.
9. What is the full name of the Disney character who sometimes calls himself "Honest John"?

Answer: John Worthington Foulfellow

John Worthington Foulfellow is the full name of the villainous fox from "Pinocchio" who went by the name of Honest John. The cat who worked along-side him was named Gideon. A few other Disney characters with the name John include Prince John and Little John from Disney's "Robin Hood" and John Smith from Disney's "Pocahontas".
10. Which of the following was NOT an object that was heard talking in "Beauty and the Beast"?

Answer: A chandelier

There was no talking chandelier in "Beauty and the Beast", but the rest of the objects mentioned had speaking roles. The stove was the castle chef, the feather duster was the maid, and the wardrobe used to help out with fashion in the castle. She apparently also used to be an opera singer.
