Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Braveheart" King Longshanks orders his men to "Bring me Wallace, alive if possible." What is said next?

Answer: "Dead, just as good".

This was said after the second of the two main battles. In this battle the English easily account for Wallace's (Mel Gibson) men. Longshanks (Patrick McGoohan) is speaking to a group of solders who include Robert the Bruce (Angus Macfadyen), one of Wallace's supposed allies. Robert the Bruce then chases after Wallace, only to have his armor removed, revealing his identity.
2. When Kim Boggs (Winona Ryder) says "Hold me" in "Edward Scissorhands", what does Edward (Johnny Depp) reply?

Answer: "I can't."

This scene occurs at the end of the movie, when the two are falling in love. Edward is about to be chased out of the town, back to his dark mansion. They are standing in a garden in the snow, when the quote takes place. Edward wants to hold Kim, however his scissors do not allow him to. Of course if Edward had held his love the rating of the movie would not have been PG, as his scissors would have surly produced a wound.
3. "When people think you're dying, they listen" says the narrator (Edward Norton) in "Fight Club". What does Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter) say in reply?

Answer: "Instead of waiting for their turn to speak."

When the narrator (Norton) and Marla (Bonham Carter) decide to come clean over why they attend help groups for people with illnesses, they come up with this gem. They had earlier agreed to split the groups so that they would not attend the same ones. I could have used a number of quotes for my question on this movie, however this one makes me think a little. I think they are trying to say that most people are more worried about what they have to say, rather than listening to others.
4. In "The Godfather" Calo (Franco Citti) claims "In Sicily, women are more dangerous than _______."?

Answer: "Shotguns."

Calo (Citti) is talking to Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) at the time. Michael has just been hit by 'the thunderbolt' after seeing Apollonia (Simonetta Stefanelli), who would later be killed. The 'thunderbolt' is like a 'love at first sight' phenomenon. Calo's warning to Michael was more in jest rather than a serious caution. Calo is one of Michael's bodyguards in Sicily, where he fled after he killed a police officer.
5. In "Happy Gilmore", Happy (Adam Sandler) says to his caddy (Jared Van Snellenberg) "Looks like a slight hill. Whaddya' think?" His caddy then says "And a slant to the left." What does Happy respond?

Answer: "That's 'cause you're only wearing one shoe."

Obviously Happy and his caddy are on the green when this quote occurs. It is during the first real tournament that Happy appears in. Happy found his homeless caddy in the car park, when he offered to clean his window for a dollar, prior to the tournament.

This explains why he is only wearing one shoe. Gilmore is forced to take up golf in order to save his grandma from having all of her possessions repossessed.
6. In "D2: The Mighty Ducks", the Iceland Coach, Wolf Stansson (Carsten Norgaard), approaches his captain, Gunnar Stahl (Scott Whyte), after the match and claims "You lost it for me". What is Gunner's response?

Answer: "You lost it for yourself."

Coach Wolf Stansson (Norgaard) is the bad guy of the film. He has got nothing on Coach Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) and those Mighty Ducks! This quote is taken from the very end of the movie, after the final game, where team USA defeates the team from Iceland. Following the quote Gunner quickly leaves his coach's side to shake hands with the elated Ducks.

The first Duck he congratulates is Charlie Conway (Joshua Jackson).
7. In "The Shawshank Redemption" who says this line, "Prison life consists of routine, and then more routine."?

Answer: Red

This is one of my favourite movies. Red is also the narrator throughout the film and he is narrating when he says this quote. During his narration Red is trying to explain prison life. He is describing what a day consists of in jail and how every day in prison is the same. He is trying to set the scene for the movie.
8. In "Wayne's World", when Wayne (Mike Myers) is asked to stop playing "Stairway To Heaven" in the guitar store he replies with a witty remark. What does he say?

Answer: "No Stairway! Denied!"

The clerk stops Wayne (Myers) from playing the song by pointing to a sign on the wall that states "No Stairway To Heaven". Wayne is playing on the guitar that he one day dreams of owning. He is talking to Garth (Dana Carvey) and Cassandra (Tia Carrere).

The clerk at the store become's annoyed with Wayne and his constant playing of the guitar until later in the movie, when he actually has enough money to buy it.
9. In "Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory", Wonka (Gene Wilder) says "don't forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he'd ever wished for". What happened to the man, according to Wonka?

Answer: "He lived happily ever after."

Mr. Wonka (Wilder) says this to Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) as he hands over the factory. Charlie is lucky enough to be given the factory because he resisted the temptation to give an everlasting gobstopper to Mr. Slugworth (Günter Meisner). They are in a flying elevator, looking over the city at the time.

It is a typical Wonka quote because of his unpredictable nature. It is my favourite quote from the original movie. Wonka uses the quote because he is giving Charlie every boy's dream, a chocolate factory.
10. What film is this quote from? "I'm having a party, I don't know you but you can come."

Answer: What's Eating Gilbert Grape

I love this film. It is in my top five, and Leonardo DiCaprio is fantastic as Arnie Grape. Johnny Depp is also superb as Gilbert Grape. Arnie says this when he is talking to some kids on the street. It is his 18th birthday. Arnie is keen for anybody and everybody to come help him celebrate. Arnie is a disabled child and was not expected to live to be much older than 12.

The eventual party would turn out to be a success, with Arnie and Gilbert able to patch up their earlier fight.
