Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. You go to sleep, since it is past your bedtime. And since you're so tired, you fall asleep quite fast. Soon, you find yourself dreaming about an orphanage full of little girls. You go outside of the building, and see a sign on the wall that says 'Hudson Street Home For Girls'. You wake up, and realize you were dreaming of what movie?

Answer: Annie

The classic "Annie" was released in 1981, starring Carol Burnett, Bernadette Peters, Albert Finney, Ann Reinking, and Tim Curry. It is about a little orphan girl who tries to run away from the orphanage and the awful orphanage keeper, Miss Hannigan. Though that's not all the story is about! Another part of the story is: after Annie is caught running away from a police man, Annie is forced to stay in the paddle closet...in Miss Hannigan's office.

A lady comes and asks for an orphan for Oliver Warbucks the millionaire! She soon picks Annie who is standing outside of the closet she was in. Miss Farrel, the lady who had come to get an orphan, takes Annie back to Mr. Warbucks' house, where Annie will be staying for the next week.

At first, Mr. Warbucks doesn't agree with having Annie stay, but he soon changes his mind and lets her.

This is a wonderful family movie, and I recommend everyone to see it at least once.
2. The next night, you go to sleep after watching a movie released in 2003. You begin a dream where you're inside a house that looks more like a day care! There are little kids running around the room terrorizing things, and making messes all over the house! You wake up and realize you were dreaming of the movie you had just watched. What movie is it?

Answer: Daddy Day Care

"Daddy Day Care" was released in 2003. Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin star in this hilarious comedy about two men who lose their jobs and start a day care center. Together, they take care of many children in Charlie's house. But when the mean Miss Harridan steps in and tries to crush them, it'll be tougher then they thought it would be.

When the child service man comes to inspect them after a complaint he got, Phil and Charlie are told to change some of the things in Charlie's house. They do, and the next day the child service man comes back, and says everything is fine except for they need one more worker for the job. Phil and Charlie soon hire Marvin, the mail 'sniffer' at their old work.

He agrees and Daddy Day Care is back in business again.

After they get another complaint, they have to either give up two kids, or find a larger facility, for they have over twelve children in one house, which is over the limit. When they find a large enough building, they have a fund-raiser to get enough money to buy the place. During the fund-raiser, Miss Harridan and her sidekick, Jenny, have their plans to sabotage it.

They do various things, and finally succeed in getting everybody to leave. After Charlie, Phil, and their wives count the money that they had made, they realize it isn't going to be enough to buy the building. Meanwhile, Jim Fields calls. Jim Fields is the head of the cereal company of which Phil and Charlie used to work. He offers them back their job, and they except it. After a meeting at work, Charlie decides to quit the job, and go back to Daddy Day Care. Phil agrees, and Marvin does as well. They find enough money to buy the facility they needed, and they stay their permanently. Over all, this is a good movie for everyone in the family to enjoy.
3. The same night, you go back to bed. You finally fall asleep and begin a new dream. You end up on a dry desert, and you see a lot of boys digging holes in orange suits! What 2003 release are you thinking of?

Answer: Holes

"Holes" was also a 2003 release. It stars Sigourney Weaver, Shia Labeauf, Jon Voight, and Tim Blake Nelson. It is about a poor boy, Stanley, who was walking home from school, when a pair of shoes falls on his head. He picks them up and hears sirens coming from behind him.

He starts to run back to his apartment. The police catch him, and he gets taken back to his apartment where the police can interview his parents and look at his living facilities. He gets sent to a judge where they plead him guilty, and he gets sent to Camp Green Lake.

The ride there is eight hours long, and by the time it was finished, Stanley was very thirsty and sweaty. He learns that Camp Green Lake is a desert. He meets Mr. Sir and Mr. Pendanski, and he also learns that the boys at the camp are ordered to dig one hole a day. During Stanley's second day of digging holes, he finds a little tube.

He was told by X-Ray, one of the fellow campers, to give it to him whenever he found something. Of course Stanley does, and X-Ray gives it to Mr. Pendanski the next day.

The Warden comes to look at it, and she gives the day off to X-ray, and the others boys have to make larger holes then usual. After a few days of digging the larger holes, the Warden finally tells them that they can return to digging individual holes, instead of the big one that they've been doing earlier. Meantime, Stanley is teaching Zero, another camper, how to read. They get in trouble for this, and Zero ends up running away from the camp. Nobody runs after him, and he's soon out of sight. After a couple of days, Stanley figures he should go try to find Zero. He steals Mr. Sir's truck, but he accidentally drives it into a hole. He runs away as well. After walking for a while, Stanley comes upon an old wooden boat that's turned upside down. He sees Zero under it, and Zero comes out. Glad that he's alive, Stanley follows Zero into the boat. Zero hands him a jar of what he calls 'Sploosh'. Stanley unwilling drinks it, and finds out that it's pretty good. They put the last jar of it into a sunflower seed sack Stanley had found on his way there. They get out from under the boat, and Stanley looks ahead of him at some mountains. He sees a mountain that looks like the mountain his grandfather had described to him when he was younger. His grandfather knew of the mountain, for his father had been stranded up there after he was robbed by a famous outlaw named Kissin' Kate Barlow. Stanley had heard that there was running water up there, and that's what had kept his great grandfather from dying out in the desert. Stanley and Zero decide to go up the mountain and see if there really is running water up there. After a hard, grueling walk, they finally make it up the mountain. They see that there's really water there, and it keeps them alive. Although that's only half of the story! You'll just have to watch the movie to see the rest for yourself.
4. Finally the next night comes, and you are too tired to stay awake another moment. You fall asleep on a couch in your living room, watching a Disney classic. You dream that you are in Africa, surrounded by animals that are gathered around a large rock. They start to bow, and you suddenly see a monkey holding a cub! What movie is it?

Answer: The Lion King

This movie was released in 1995. It starred the voice of Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Nathan Lane. It's about a lion cub who's promised to be the King over Pride Rock, and all the land the light touches. When he gets caught in the Hyena's lair with a friend and a baby-sitter, his father, Mufasa, comes to the rescue. Mufasa has an evil brother, Scar, who wants to be the king as well. Though now that Mufasa has a son, it seems impossible for him to become king.

He thinks of a plan to kill Mufasa, and does so.

He hires the hyenas to start a stampede of wild beasts. It looks as though Simba has done it! After Simba finds his father dead, he's told by his uncle to run away and never return. Simba does so, and the next morning, he finds himself with a warthog and a meerkat.

Their names are Pumbaa and Timon. When the two outcasts tell their story to Simba, he finds out that they have a motto called 'Hakuna Matata'. Simba soon abides by the rules, and follows in Timon and Pumbaa's steps. After Simba's old friend, Nala, shows up in the jungle of which Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa live, Simba realizes he needs to take his rightful place as King over Pride Rock.

He returns, and challenges his uncle to take his place as king. Simba wins, and becomes king. There are two other sequels, 'The Lion King 2' and 'The Lion King 1 1/2'. I recommend everyone to see them if they haven't.
5. A couple nights later, you come home from your friends' house. You're so tired that you decide to go to sleep. You start dreaming about a girl and a guy riding on a motorcycle in Rome. You soon learn that the girl is running away from a hotel where her classmates and mean principal are. What movie are you dreaming of?

Answer: The Lizzie Mcguire Movie

This was also a 2003 release, starring Hilary Duff and Adam Lambrieg. It is about a girl, Lizzie Mcguire, who goes off to Rome on a school field trip. There, she meets an Italian pop star, Padlo, who thinks she looks exactly like his former girl performer, Isabella. Lizzie soon realizes she does look an awful lot like this past singer. Padlo ends up asking Lizzie if she could perform at the concert for him, and she agrees.

She also finds out that Isabella lip-synced the song that she performed, and so Lizzie will have to lip-sync as well. The night of the concert, Lizzie runs into her best friend, Gordo, and Isabella. Isabella tells Lizzie that Padlo is lip-syncing, and that he was going to turn off the fake voice on Lizzie, so she would be caught! Lizzie hurriedly tells the sound guy to turn off Padlo's voice instead of hers in the middle of the song.

While performing the song, the guy did turn off Padlo's fake voice. Of course he ran off the stage, and it was up to Lizzie to perform the rest of the song.

After the concert was over, Lizzie met up with her family who came to Rome because they were worried about her being there without them. Lizzie gets interviewed by the press, but escapes to find Gordo and tell them that she's happy that he and Isabella told her about the lip-syncing. It has a happy ending, and needless to say, this is also a wonderful film that kids of all ages should enjoy.
6. The next afternoon, you come home, and you decide to take a nap. You soon fall asleep and start dreaming that you are walking inside of what looks like a rundown building. You see around 150 dead men lying on the ground. There are obviously no survivors for one of the sides of the war. There are also some Mexican men that look like they have won the war, for they look very happy. You learn that you are inside of a fort. What movie are you dreaming of?

Answer: The Alamo: 13 Days to Glory

"The Alamo: 13 Days To Glory" is a wonderful, yet depressing movie. It's based on a true story about the war between Texas and Mexico. Although most people know about this story, I will explain a little bit about the movie. Yes, there is a romance story between a Texan boy named Danny and his lover who is a Mexican.

Although they both know that there's little hope for Danny, his girl still wants him to propose to her. He does so, and they make a date for the wedding...the victory day. During the war, every man dies.

While looking at them, Danny's fiancee finds Danny, and she ties her cross necklace in a handkerchief, and leaves it lying on him. Let's just say it's not the best way to wake up in the morning, nor is it the best way to go to bed.
7. You wake up from the latest dream quite frazzled, but you soon return to your nap. You soon find yourself in a bedroom where a mother and daughter are talking. They seemed to have switched bodies! They soon decide to do a 'jolt', in which they fall on the ground after hitting each other. You wake up a few moments later, and realize your dream was of what movie?

Answer: Freaky Friday

"Freaky Friday" was also a 2003 release. The movie starred Lindsey Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. It's about a mother and daughter who switch places after getting fortune cookies from a Chinese waitress. Although no one knows, it's pretty easy to tell Anna and the mother apart.
8. The next night, you go to sleep fairly early. You start to dream that you are in St. Louis, Missouri inside of an old house where a family is gathered around the table, getting ready to eat supper. The old phone starts to ring, and the father gets up to answer it. It is obviously a phone call from someone in New York. He tells the operator he didn't call New York, and so he hangs up. A girl at the table, who appears to be the oldest, starts crying. The other family members then tell the father that it was a boy calling to propose to the oldest girl, Rose Smith. You wake up, and realize you were dreaming on what 1940's movie?

Answer: Meet Me In St. Louis

"Meet Me In St. Louis" is by far the best old movie ever created, starring Judy Garland. It's about a family who lives in St. Louis, Missouri. There are five children whose names are Lonzo, Rose, Esther, Agnes, and Tootie. First off, Esther has a love interest and he lives next door.

The only problem is, Esther has never met him! But that soon changes once the family has a party and they invite the boy, John Truett. After the party is over, Esther asks John to stay and help her turn down the lights...she's 'afraid of mice'.

He agrees, and helps her. This is when you can tell he rather likes her. Meantime, the planning of the world fair is going on. No one, except for Mr. Smith, can wait for it to open in nine months. Time passes, and John Truett asks Esther to marry him.

She wishes to, but her family is going to move to New York on New Year's Eve, which is just a week away. Later that night, the father hears Tootie crying outside, because she has to move away from all of her favorite things.

He decides to stop the moving, and Esther ends up marrying John Truett. It ends with them going to the fair. Of course there's a lot more to the movie, but you'll have to see it for yourself!
9. Your next dream you have obviously has something to do with a real estate agent. You see a family getting ready to go into a large mansion to look at it for it is going to be sold. It happens to be haunted, and you soon learn that the family gets trapped in it, for the storm is too strong for them to leave. You hear a thunder clap, and you wake up. What movie were you dreaming of?

Answer: The Haunted Mansion

"The Haunted Mansion" was released in 2003, starring Eddie Murphy. Although I've never seen it, I know that it's about a real estate agent, Jim Evers, who goes to look at an old mansion, it starts to storm, and he and his family gets stuck there for the night. Sounds pretty thrilling to me!
10. Your next dream happens to be a 2003 release as well. You see a girl, that looks to be around the age of eighteen, getting taken to a ship where there are a lot of rough looking men. The men are obviously pirates! They have terrorized the town, and have kidnapped the girl, Elizabeth. Once Elizabeth has bargained with the captain, Barbossa, she has given him a medallion, she took from a boy when she was younger. She thinks she's going to be taken back to the shore, but then she realizes she's not. What movie are you dreaming about?

Answer: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

This movie stars Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, and Kiera Knightly. It is about a girl, Elizabeth Swann, who is taken onto a pirate ship. There, she meets the evil captain, Barbossa, and his crew. After having dinner one night with Captain Barbossa, she finds out that the crew is cursed.

They took some Aztec coins, also known as 'medallions', from an old chest. After they realize some things are different. They begin to notice they can't die, the food turns to ash in their mouths, and they can't feel anything.

At first, Elizabeth doesn't believe Captain Barbossa, but soon does after she sees the crew as walking skeletons! The reason why the crew are walking skeletons, is because after they took the coins, whenever the moon shows, they become skeletons. Meanwhile, Elizabeth's love, Will Turner, is on another ship with the other captain, Jack Sparrow.

After Will breaks Captain Jack Sparrow out of a jail cell, they steal a ship from Port Royal, which is where Will lives. They head out for Tortuga, where they find a crew to help steer and take care of the ship.

They find a suitable crew, and begin the journey. Of course there is much more to the story, but there are not enough words, and time to explain it. You'll just have to see the movie for yourself!
