Yul Brynner, Sean Connery and Richard Burton were all considered for the role of Captain von Trapp. Kurt Russell, Richard Dreyfuss, Mia Farrow and the four eldest Osmond brothers all auditioned for the parts of the children.

The real Maria von Trapp had a cameo as a village woman who's seen briefly in the 'I Have Confidence' number.

This is the second in Peter Jackson's incredible trilogy. To obtain the battle cries of the Orcs in the Helm's Deep battle scenes, Jackson led a stadium full of cricket fans in screaming war chants that were spelled out on a large screen. The set for Helm's Deep was built over a period of 7 months and Peter Jackson's children appeared as refugee children from Rohan in that scene.

The complete name for this Steven Spielberg masterpiece is 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestial', although it has become widely known as just E.T. Harrison Ford's wife at the time, Melissa Mathison, wrote the screenplay, so Harrison had a small role as the school principal. The scene was later cut because Spielberg felt it would be too distracting and detract from the movie.

I had always heard this movie referred to as 'Bram Stoker's Dracula', and it wasn't until I looked this up on IMDb that I learned it was called simply 'Dracula'. Francis Ford Coppola directed this all star cast that included Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves and Cary Elwes. The lifelike blood was in fact just red jelly.

She actually broke a bone in her hand while fillming this. In the movie 'E.T.-the Extra-Terrestrial', E.T. is watching a scene from 'The Quiet Man' while drinking beer found in the refrigerator. Picking up on E.T.' emotions, Elliott then grabs a girl and kisses her in the classroom.
