"48 Hrs." is an action film about a police detective named Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) who gets a convict out of jail for 48 hrs. so that he can help him capture two killers. Eddie Murphy plays convict Reggie Hammond and together he and Cates hunt down the killers who just happen to be some of Reggie's ex-partners in crime.

"Poltergeist" is a horror movie about a family living in a California housing development called Cuesta Verde. Their house, unknown to the family, was built on an old cemetery where the remains of the deceased were removed and relocated. Spirits of the dead begin pestering the family and one of the entities takes the youngest daughter into the their dimension and holds her hostage.
3. Business Specializing In Preserving Food Stuffs Using Tin Containers Column

Answer: Cannery Row

"Cannery Row" is a romantic comedy drama about an ex baseball player turned marine biologist who lives near an old closed cannery in Monterey California. The area is a skid row populated with a variety of bums and prostitutes. Suzy DeSoto (Debra Winger), a young drifter, comes into the town looking for a job but the only job she can find is that of a prostitute in a local house of ill repute. Doc (Nick Nolte) takes an interest in young Suzy and ends up falling in love with her.

As a side note, Raquel Welch was cast and played the part of Suzy during the early filming of the movie.

She was fired and replaced by Debra Winger. Welch sued MGM for wrongful firing and won 10.8 million dollars.

"The Thing" is a science fiction horror film about a group of Arctic researchers that come across a spaceship that has been frozen and buried under the ice for thousands of years. A dormant parasitic extraterrestrial life form inside the ship is awoken and begins to attack and create imitations of who or what ever life form it encounters.

"Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" is a comedy starring Steve Martin as private detective Rigby Reardon. The movie is a collage of bits and pieces of old black and white movies mixed together so that it seems like one movie with Rigby as the main character.

"Firefox" is a techno-thriller film about a retired Air Force pilot who gets recruited to steal a secret jet fighter plane from the Russians. The plane has the ability to read the pilot's thoughts and react accordingly. The pilot must think in Russian in order for the plane to react.

"Six Pack" is a comedy about a race car driver named Brewster Baker (Kenny Rogers) who makes a brief stop in a small town. While there, his race car gets stripped for its parts by a group of kids. Brewster finds out the the local sheriff is blackmailing the orphaned kids into stealing car parts so he can sell them for a profit. Brewster helps the kids get away from the corrupt sheriff and makes them his pit crew.

"First Blood" is an action thriller and the first of the "Rambo" franchise movies. It stars Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, a Vietnam War hero who is having a hard time readjusting to life after the war. He is stopped while hitch hiking and thrown in jail on a minor charge.

He gets mistreated while in jail and decides to escape. He becomes a one man army fighting against the sheriff and county police departments.
9. After Hours Displacement

Answer: Night Shift

"Night Shift" is a comedy film about a meek and mild city morgue supervisor named Chuck Lumley (Henry Winkler) who gets put on the night shift and has to deal with a new partner named Bill Blazejowski (Michael Keaton) who is a wanna be entrepreneur. Bill talks Chuck into using the morgue as an office for an escort service.
10. The Arbitrament

Answer: The Verdict

"The Verdict" is a courtroom drama about an ambulance chaser lawyer named Frank Galvin (Paul Newman) who takes on a case to sue a prominent doctor for malpractice after one of his patients chokes while under anesthesia and becomes brain damaged while giving birth.

The doctor hires the most prestigious law firm in Boston to defend him. The case seems unwinnable until Galvin finds the admittance nurse who was there during the operation.
