Elizabeth's father, who is also the Governor, came up to her room. He then gave her a gift, which was a dress that included a corset. She asked her father why he gave her a gift and he said that he wanted to.

The pirates said the medallion was no use so she threatened to drop it but the pirates really did need it. They needed it to free the curse that was on them. Captain Barbossa said that if Elizabeth gave them the medallion, then they would leave Port Royal.
