Answer: The Matrix

"The Matrix" is a 1999 film directed by Larry and Andy Wachowski and starring Laurence Fishburne, Keanu Reeves, and Hugo Weaving. The film revolves around a computer programmer, Neo, who searches for something he only knows as the "Matrix." He later learns the Matrix is a simulated world that humans are forced to live in, while completely unaware it is not the real world. Neo joins a group of rebels to fight against the Matrix and the 'programs' that control it.

Laurence Fishburne plays Morpheus who is captain of Nebuchadnezzer, which is the ship the rebels occupy. He is the one that helps Neo come to the realization of the Matrix. During the film, Morpheus offers Neo two pills, one blue and one red, both producing different consequences. Later, Morpheus takes Neo to see The Oracle who makes prophecies. There, Neo meets a boy who is bending spoons. He tells Neo, "Do not try and bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth...that there is no spoon." Upon learning this, Neo bends the spoon. Throughout the movie, and even on the release poster for the movie, many characters are wearing dark trench-coats.

Answer: Captain America: The First Avenger

"Captain America: The First Avenger" is a 2011 film directed by Joe Johnston and starring Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, and Tommy Lee Jones. The film, set during World War II, revolves around Steve Rogers. Steve is a fragile, weak man who seeks to join the army, but is refused for his bad health. He then joins the Army's special project to create super-soldiers, and becomes the super-soldier Captain America to help in the war. He tries to stop an organization run by the Red Skull, which has a weapon that possesses unseen powers.

To become a super-solider, Steve has to be injected with a special serum by Dr. Abraham Erskine and also be dosed with vita-rays. Tommy Lee Jones plays Colonel Chester Phillips, a member alongside Dr. Erskine on the Army's super-solider project. Later in the film, to assist the "Captain America" persona, he wears a red, white, and blue suit. During battle, he also uses his red, white, and blue shield, that is made of vibranium, an indestructible, rare metal.

Towards the end of the film, while on an attack to stop the Red Skull from using deadly weapons, Steve boards the Red Skull's airship. To prevent detonating the weapons aboard, he is forced to crash the aircraft into the Arctic. Seventy years later, Steve wakes up after being frozen for all that time.

Answer: Finding Nemo

"Finding Nemo" is a 2003 Pixar animated film directed by Andrew Stanton. The story revolves around a father clownfish, Marlin, who searches the ocean for his son, Nemo, who was taken by a scuba diver.

At the beginning of the film, we learn Nemo has a small right fin which was caused by an injury to his egg from an attack that killed his mother. This small fin causes his dad to be overprotective about his safety. Sick of being overprotected, while at the drop-off, Nemo disobeys Marlin and goes to touch a boat. When swimming back to Marlin, Nemo is taken by a scuba diver. While the boat drives away, a scuba mask falls into the water and Marlin attempts to find it.

Along the way, early in his search, he meets Dory, a Pacific Regal Blue Tang, who has short-term memory loss. Meanwhile, Nemo is put in a fish tank of the scuba diver, who turns out to be a dentist. He meets many other fish and aquatic creatures there, all with an interest in dentistry. One of the fish Nemo meets is Bloat, a Pufferfish.

Answer: Happy Gilmore

"Happy Gilmore" is a 1996 film directed by Dennis Dugan and starring Adam Sandler. It revolves around a hockey player, named Happy Gilmore, who isn't really good at playing hockey. He discovers he has a talent for golf while attempting to earn money for his grandma to pay for her house that is about to be seized by the IRS.

Happy's potential talent at golf is discovered at a driving range by an old golf pro named Chubbs Peterson. He is the one who encourages Happy to play golf for the prize money. Chubbs tells Happy he stopped playing golf when his hand was bitten off by an alligator. Chubbs knows which alligator it was, because during the altercation, Chubbs scratched one of the alligator's eyes. Later in the film, while competing in tournaments, Happy is paired with "The Price is Right" host Bob Barker, for a celebrity tournament. The two get in an altercation of their own because of Happy's poor performance. Throughout the film, we see a man named Mr. Larson, who was once was Happy's boss. When Happy worked for him, he was shot in the head with a nail gun, and a nail still protrudes from his head. He attends Happy's golf tournaments as one of his biggest fans.

Answer: Wanted

"Wanted" is a 2008 directed by Timur Bekmambetov and starring James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, and Morgan Freeman. The film revolves around an accountant, Wesley Gibson, who enters the world of assassins by joining a group called The Fraternity, where his father once worked.

Morgan Freeman plays Sloan, the leader of The Fraternity. Sloan tells Wesley all about The Fraternity's history and more importantly, the Loom of Fate. It is a loom that contains hidden messages through the errors in the fabric. The messages are names of people that are to be The Fraternity's next target.

Sloan intends on molding Wesley into a better assassin by having him endure brutal training and combat. During training, he instructs and shows Wesley how to curve bullets around objects, so he will be able to still hit targets even if obstructing objects get in the way. This is something Wesley once thought to be impossible. After training, while in recovery for his wounds, he meets another member of The Fraternity. The member informs him about rats. He says although it's common to think cheese is a better way to attract rats, peanut butter works the best. Later in the film, Wesley uses this to his advantage to get hundreds of rats into The Fraternity's building.

In the film, Wesley, still working as an accountant, gains courage in his new found assassin life. He gets so encouraged that he decides to tell his mean boss and his jerk best friend how he really feels about them. He hits his friend, Barry, in the face with a keyboard on his way out of the office.

Answer: Shrek

"Shrek" is a 2001 Dreamworks animated film directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson and starring Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz. The film revolves around an ogre named Shrek who goes on a quest to save a princess from a tower to remove unwanted guests from his home in a swamp. The unwanted guests are fairytale creatures who are banished by Lord Farquaad. Lord Farquaad agrees to move the creatures if Shrek rescues the princess for him.

Towards the beginning of the film, Shrek meets Donkey. Donkey, who is a donkey that can talk, randomly comes across Shrek's swamp and Shrek saves him from some guards. Donkey soon decides he wants to be Shrek's friend (much to Shrek's chagrin.) Later, while talking with Donkey, Shrek discusses that ogres are more complicated than what others think. He compares ogres to onions, in the fact that they both have many layers to them.

On the quest, Shrek and Donkey find the tower, but discover it is guarded by a dragon. The princess in need of rescuing is Princess Fiona, voiced by Cameron Diaz. Along with the princess, we meet many fairytale creatures throughout the film, including Pinocchio, the Big Bad Wolf, and the Three Little Pigs. One other fairytale creature we meet is Gingerbread Man. During the film, Lord Farquaad interrogates Gingerbread Man and threatens to take his gumdrop buttons.

Answer: The Dark Knight

"The Dark Knight" is a 2008 film directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, and Aaron Eckhart. The film revolves around Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) who attempts to help the police and the new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take down a criminal named the Joker in Gotham City.

At the beginning of the film, a group of men, all wearing clown masks, rob a bank popular with the mob. To get more money at the end of the robbery, some of the "clowns" decide to kill one another to get a bigger share. We quickly learn that the Joker orchestrated the robbery. When introducing himself to the mob, the Joker gives the men his "card," which is actually just the joker playing card from a deck of cards. Later in the film, the Joker conducts a social experiment. He places explosives in two separate boats, one filled with prisoners and the other with families. On the other boat of one is the detonator for the other. The Jokes tells the passengers that one of the boats must destroy the other boat, or he will destroy them both.

At the beginning of the movie, Harvey Dent decides to settle a decision with a coin flip. When he flips the coin, his girlfriend, Rachel, tells him not to leave important things up to chance. We then learn that he has a double-sided coin with two faces, which lets him "make his own luck." Later on in the film, one side of Harvey's face gets severely burnt. Ironically, one side of the double-sided coin suffers the same fate.

Answer: Fight Club

"Fight Club" is a 1999 film based directed by David Fincher and starring Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, and Helena Bonham Carter. The film revolves around a depressed everyday man (named only as "the narrator") who meets and later befriends a reckless, soap maker and salesman named Tyler Durden. Together, the two men create a secret fight club.

Early in the film, the narrator meets a girl named Marla (played by Helena Bonham Carter) at a support group for a disease neither of them have. The narrator attends support groups for emotional connections and to relieve his insomnia problem.

When the narrator and Tyler create their fight club, they also create a set of rules for it. There are eight rules total, the first rule being "You do not talk about fight club," and the second rule being "You DO NOT talk about fight club." These first two rules stress the secrecy of their fight club.

Answer: Titanic

"Titanic" is a 1997 directed by James Cameron starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The film revolves around the sinking of the RMS Titanic, which sank in 1912. More specifically, it tells the story of an engaged, high class lady named Rose and a low class guy named Jack, who meet on the ship and fall in love.

At the beginning of the movie, in present time, we see a group of treasure hunters searching for the Heart of the Ocean, a very expensive necklace. They search the ruins of the Titanic, believing it went down when the Titanic sank. Rose is given the Heart of the Ocean, a large, heart-shaped blue diamond, by her fiance, Cal, when they are passengers on the Titanic in 1912.

Later, when the movie flashbacks to England in 1912, we meet Jack Dawson. Jack and his friend, Fabrizio, are playing poker for third class tickets to ride the Titanic, which is traveling to America. Jack gets a full house, winning the poker game, and winning the tickets to the Titanic. Later in the film, after Jack falls in love with Rose and the Titanic sinks into the Atlantic Ocean, Jack tells Rose, "Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me... it brought me to you."

Answer: Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

"DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story" is a 2004 film directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber and starring Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and Christine Taylor. The film revolves around two competing gyms, the small Average Joe's and the corporate Globo-Gym, and the rivalry between the two owners. The owner of Average Joe's, Peter LaFleur played by Vince Vaughn, resorts to a dodgeball competition to earn enough money to pay his mortgage and to avoid foreclosure.

Once learning the gym needs to make 50,000 dollars to cover the mortgage, an Average Joe's employee named Gordon suggests the gym participate in a Las Vegas dodgeball competition where the prize money is exactly 50,000 dollars. To become better dodgeball players, the team watches an old training video narrated by a dodgeball legend named Patches O'Houlihan. Later, Patches arrives in Peter's gym to help train the players himself. His training methods are very uncommon, and include throwing wrenches at the players. Patches claims, "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." Toward the end of the film, Average Joe's wins the competition. Peter asks to receive the prize money in a pirate treasure chest to please an Average Joe's employee named Steve, who dresses and acts like a pirate throughout the movie.

Answer: Toy Story

"Toy Story" is a 1995 Pixar animated film directed by John Lasseter and starring Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. The film revolves around the lives of a group of toys, who are alive while humans are not present and pretend to be lifeless when they are.

There are many toys in the film, the two main toys being Woody, a cowboy sheriff doll, and Buzz Lightyear, an astronaut action figure. Other toys include a Mr. Potato Head, a Slinky Dog, a dinosaur named Rex, a piggy bank named Hamm, and a Bo Peep doll.

"Toy Story" is a popular children's movie, and has produced two equally popular sequels.

Answer: Forrest Gump

"Forrest Gump" is a 1994 film directed by Robert Zemeckis starring Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, and Gary Sinise. The film revolves around a slow man named Forrest Gump as he recounts his life story on a bench at a bus stop. His stories happen to be apart of many important events in history.

One of the first life stories Forrest recounts is his time in the army. In the army, he meets and later befriends a man named Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue. Bubba has plans of going into a shrimping business when he is done in the army, and asks Forrest to be a part of it. Bubba unfortunately dies in battle, but Forrest pursues his dream and creates the successful shrimping company "Bubba Gump Shrimp."

Forrest is a great solider, and during the ambush that killed Bubba, he helps to save the lives of many other soldiers. In addition to getting shot himself, he earns the Medal of Honor by President Lyndon B. Johnson. While recovering for his wounds, Forrest learns he has a talent for ping pong. He plays for huge tournaments and even goes on tour. Later in the film, after his long love Jenny refuses to marry him, Forrest goes out for a run. For no reason, he keeps running across the country. He begins to have followers and even becomes famous for it, until one day, he just stops running.

Forrest's mother was always a very influential person in his life. He had no father growing up, and always lived his life by his mother's words. During the movie, Forrest repeats the now popular quote, "My momma always said, 'Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.'"

Answer: Bridesmaids

"Bridesmaids" is a 2011 film directed by Paul Feig and starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy and Rose Byrne. The film revolves around Annie, who's down on her luck, as she is asked to be the maid of honor at her best friend Lillian's wedding.

Annie, played by Kristen Wiig, used to own her own bakery called Cake Baby. She is very skilled at making and decorating cupcakes. Towards the beginning of the film, Annie is stopped by the police for a broken taillight. She talks her way out of a ticket, and befriends the police officer, Nathan Rhodes. For fun, he takes her with him to use a police radar to identify cars that are speeding to pull them over and give them tickets.

When Annie, Lillian, and the other bridesmaids are looking for dresses at a very expensive wedding boutique, the girls discover they have food poisoning. Right before the dress fitting, they went to a Brazilian restaurant for lunch. Lillian, while wearing an expensive wedding dress, gets very sick and ruins the dress. Later, the girls go to Lillian's bridal shower, which has a Parisian theme. The party favors for the bridal showers are puppies. Megan, another bridesmaid, secretly takes a couple of the puppies.

Answer: The Princess Bride

"The Princess Bride" is a 1987 film directed by Rob Reiner and starring Cary Elwes and Robin Wright. The film revolves around a story a grandfather is reading to his sick grandson. The story is "The Princess Bride," a fairytale about a Buttercup, a beautiful girl, who falls in love with a farmhand, Wesley, until he is believed to be dead after an encounter with a pirate. From there, the story has outlaws, a fire swamp, rodents, an evil prince, and sword fights.

After Buttercup believes Wesley is dead, she agrees to marry the evil Prince Humperdinck. She is soon kidnapped by three outlaws. The outlaws get a run for their money when then begin to be chased by a mysterious man in black wearing a mask.

The masked man in black is determined to defeat all of the outlaws, first starting with Inigo Montoya. Inigo spends his time looking for a man with six fingers on his right hand. This man killed his father, and he is prepared to avenge him. The man in black defeats Inigo in a sword fight, and also defeats another outlaw, Fezzik. The masked man in black challenges the last outlaw, Vizzini, to a battle of the wits until one of them is dead. The two men have one glass of wine in front of each of them. The man in black says he secretly poisoned one (with iocaine powder), and Vizzini must pick the one without poison or die. Vizzini picks a wine glass, and the man in black has the other. They both drink, and Vizzini dies, not knowing that both glasses have the poison and the man in black is immune.

It is soon revealed that Wesley was the masked man in black the whole time. After the reveal, Buttercup is chased by Prince Humperdinck's guards. Wesley and Buttercup want to be together, so they escape into the Fire Swamp. The Fire Swamp is a dangerous place, full of quicksand, fire spouts, and ROUSes, which are rodents of unusual size. A gang of rodents attack Buttercup and Wesley but they make it out alive.

Answer: Scream

"Scream" is a 1996 film directed by Wes Craven starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Drew Barrymore, and David Arquette. The film revolves around a high school student, Sidney Prescott, who is trying to determine the identity of Ghostface, a murderer who is killing off teenagers with Sidney as his primary target.

The now popular, mysterious killer Ghostface is recognized by a black, robe-like costume and most importantly, his white mask resembling a ghost with a "screaming" facial expression.

At the beginning of the film, we meet teenager Casey Becker played by Drew Barrymore. Casey gets an anonymous call from a man who becomes more and more threatening. Eventually the caller reveals he can see Casey, which terrifies her. The caller asks Casey to answer questions about famous horror movies, and if she's not correct, he will kill her boyfriend (who is tied up on her back porch.) "Scream" itself is a satire to horror movie cliches, including that of the classic movies "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th".

Later in the film, we meet Gale Weathers (played by Courteney Cox), a nosy reporter who comes to town to cover the murder spree of Ghostface. She was involved in coverage of the murder of Sidney's mother, Maureen.
