Russell Lissack is the guitarist with the rather dapper, asymmetrical fringe and Matt Tong, is the brilliantly unique, highly energetic drummer; they both contribute to the unforgettable onslaught that is a Bloc Party gig, with lead vocalist and songwriter Kele Okereke and bassist Gordon Moakes.

Another fantastic track, truly demonstrating Kele's talent as a beautifully poetic songwriter, its release when "Silent Alarm" was at its most popular shows a band with a real hunger to create new music.

Bloc Party have a spectacular skill in fusing the truly unique and forceful instrumental side of their music with lyrics tinged with despair. This track is no exception; regardless of your own personal interpretation, it is both raw and painful and manages to be achingly beautiful at the same time.

Answer: Pioneers

This vivid and artistic video, featuring the wacky and perilous adventures of the band as cartoon pioneers, was produced by Tim Phillips and completed on a shoestring by Mini Vegas, a design agency based in London. It was number one in the NME video charts for a month.

Answer: Eddie Argos of Art Brut

This verbal conflict began with Argos, insulting Kele and Bloc Party on a well known music website. It came to a head in a minor physical altercation at a club in London in 2005. The other three choices are utterly delightful in every way and would never be involved in any nasty feuds, hehe.

The band went through various name changes, another of which was The Angel Range, before settling on Bloc Party, um I think they made the right choice! Led Ballon was my own creation by the way, a play on Led Zepplin, get it?

The renowned NME have in recent years being accused of creating hype for bands that frankly don't deserve it, but in Bloc Party they recognised a truly refreshing band which was exactly the injection of energy that music required. Some view the band as art rock, others see them as a modern take on post punk, yet they they have in my opinion, created a genre of their own, which is truly different from anything else out there. That's a feat not many others can achieve.

This song once again demonstrates Kele's ability to write truly powerful and poetic lyrics; he speaks to those who are lost, with life passing them by, pleading 'Stop being so laissez-faire (leave things alone/let them pass) We're all scared of the future.' It is once again a truly effectual song, perhaps tinged with cynicism, you either get lost in progress or become adrift from it, a typically catch 22 dilemma faced by those living in the modern world. Yet, Bloc Party are nothing if not honest about life in the 21st century.
