Recorded on June 26th, 1986 on a very hot day in an airtight garage with a producer in the kitchen of the house.
2. The Cowboy Junkies are brothers and sister Margo, Michael and Peter Timmins and Alan Anton. There is one other musician who has played with them since "The Trinity Sessions". Who is he?

Answer: Jeff Bird

Jeff Bird can be considered as the fifth member of the Cowboy Junkies having played mandolin, guitar, harmonica and organ on every album. He has also released some solo albums.
3. On "Whites Off Earth Now" the Cowboy Junkies recorded "State Trooper". Margo said of the writer of this song: "If he would propose to me, I would leave my husband." Who is he?

"Whites Off Earth Now" and "The Trinity Sessions" were originally released on Latent. The label was then dormant until the release of "Cowboy Junkies Rarities, B-Sides and Slow, Sad Waltzes" in 1999 followed by "Waltz Across America", a live album.

Answer: Townes' Blues

"Townes' Blues" was written for Townes Van Zandt who toured with the Cowboy Junkies. The song is about a game of dice in the back of the tour bus. Townes replied by writing "Cowboy Junkies' Lament" for the band.
7. "If You Were The Woman, And I Was The Man" is a duet with John Prine. Initially another singer-songwriter was supposed to sing this with Margo but their voices turned out to be incompatible. Who was he?

Answer: Jimmie Dale Gilmore

Jimmie Dale Gilmore was actually in the studio with the Cowboy Junkies to record this, but in spite of his best efforts, the duet never worked out.
8. Michael Timmins wrote a trio of songs called the "River Song Trilogy". Parts 2 ("Bea's Song") and 3 ("Dragging Hooks") appeared on "Lay It Down" and "Open" respectively. The first part did not appear on any regular studio albums. What's it called?

All three songs were initially scheduled to appear on "Lay It Down", but only "Bea's Song" made it. "River Waltz" was only released on "Rarities, B-Sides and Slow Dad Waltzes".

Germinal and The Hunger Project are names Michael Timmins and Alan Anton used for previous incarnations of the Cowboy Junkies. The Corndogs are a band that has released albums on Latent.
