Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Simple Design" by Breaking Benjamin is a song that manages to sound both angry and forgiving at the same time. Which of these lyrics is from this song?

Answer: You fall apart at the seams

Breaking Benjamin consists of singer Ben Burnley, guitarist Aaron Fink, bassist Mark James Klepaski, and drummer Jeremy Hummel. These talented musicians are from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where Ben and Aaron attended high school together. Breaking Benjamin started playing here before they became famous and created such spectacular songs as "Simple Design".
2. Which interesting sounding song contains these lyrics? "I don't care what you want, I just want mine."

Answer: Believe

"Believe" is definitely one of the more interesting songs in the "We Are Not Alone" album. I love the way Ben Burnley's voice sounds when he sings this song!
3. Another different song in "We Are Not Alone" is "Firefly". In the following lyric, what is the missing word? "We'll come back again to a different _____."

Answer: land

It might be surprising to know that two of the band members belonged to a different band before Breaking Benjamin. Aaron and Mark originally belonged to the alternative band Lifer. Lifer was a recognized band that had signed to a major label, but Aaron and Mark joined Ben and Jeremy to form Breaking Benjamin because they had a strong faith in Ben's songwriting talents. That must have taken a lot of guts to do!
4. This Breaking Benjamin song with the following lyric is really fun to listen to: "I hear you 'cause you won't stop screaming my name". What song is it?

Answer: Away

"Away" is an awesome song. It's a somewhat complicated song, but it deals with a person's simultaneous love and hate for another person. That's what I make of it, at least!
5. "Sooner or Later" has been one of Breaking Benjamin's more popular songs on the radio. Name the missing word in this lyric. "I want a ______ life, just like a newborn child."

Answer: normal

Breaking Benjamin cites bands such as Bush, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, and Stone Temple Pilots as influences for their music. Breaking Benjamin music tends to be somewhat heavier than post-grunge bands, and this can be heard in songs like "Sooner or Later".
6. "Forget It" is, in my opinion, one of Breaking Benjamin's more creative songs. Choose the correct lyrics for this song.

Answer: Nevermind, I'll let it happen to you

"Forget It" was one of the songs in "We Are Not Alone" that was written with Billy Corgan of the band Smashing Pumpkins, along with "Rain". Because Smashing Pumpkins was such a huge influence for the Breaking Benjamin band members, everyone was really excited and nervous, but everything turned out just fine.

This collaborative process produced some really excellent songs for this album.
7. One of my favorite songs in "We Are Not Alone" is "Follow". What is the missing word in this lyric from "Follow"? "________ me, reveal my fate."

Answer: Enlighten

I love listening to "Follow"; it rocks! It has a real positive sound and is a lot of fun. This song was also written with Smashing Pumpkins singer-songwriter Billy Corgan, and they did a great job with this one.
8. Yet another fantastic song by Breaking Benjamin is "Breakdown". Only one of the lyrics below belongs to "Breakdown". Which is it?

Answer: Heaven is on the way

I think that "Breakdown" is just spectacular. It has a heavy feel to it, and it sounds excellent. It is about the singer experiencing a breakdown (obviously, considering the title) over someone close, presumably a woman.
9. "Let me out and let me in." The Breaking Benjamin song with this lyric is full of anguish. What song is this?

Answer: Break My Fall

I personally feel that "Break My Fall" is a very sad song, and it is very well done. Breaking Benjamin's first major album was titled "Saturate", and it was released in August 2002. This helped to pave the way for Breaking Benjamin's eventual fame. "We Are Not Alone" was their second album.
10. This Breaking Benjamin song has been played on the radio numerous times and is probably the most well-known song on the album. "Show me how it ends, it's all right. Show me how defenseless you really are. Satisfied and empty inside. That's all right, let's give this another try." Name that song!

Answer: So Cold

"So Cold" is one of Breaking Benjamin's best songs (in my opinion)! It rules! Biographical information for this quiz was taken from http://www.mtv.com/bands/az/breaking_benjamin/bio.jhtml. I hope you enjoyed this Breaking Benjamin quiz! These boys rock!
