Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After murdering Abel, the Lord asked Cain where Abel was. What was Cain's response to this question?

Answer: "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"

In what we might call a jealous rage, Cain murdered Abel. The Lord could see that immediately, but asked Cain where Abel was. Cain tried to pretend that he was innocent, by saying that he didn't know (Genesis 4:8-9.)
2. Why did Moses kill an Egyptian?

Answer: The Egyptian was beating a Hebrew

The famous story of Moses is found in Exodus. Moses was grown up, and saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. Moses killed the Egyptian, and hid his body in the sand, and when Pharaoh sought to kill Moses, he ran away to the land of Midian (Exodus 2:11-15.)
3. Who helped David kill Uriah?

Answer: Joab

David fell in love with Bathsheba when he saw her bathing from his roof. Unfortunately, she was already married. This was no problem for David, and along with Joab, he sent Uriah off to the forefront of a battle, where he was slain (2 Samuel 11:1-16.)
4. Jehu was a king of Israel. He was also a fairly notorious murderer. In what order did he kill these three people?

Answer: Jehoram, Ahaziah, Jezebel

Jehu killed Jehoram first, by shooting him with a bow and arrow (2 Kings 9:24.) He then killed Ahaziah, again with a bow and arrow (2 Kings 9:27.) Lastly, he killed Jezebel, by throwing her down and having the horses trample her underfoot (2 Kings 9:33.)
5. How did Joash, the king of Judah, have Zechariah murdered?

Answer: He was stoned to death

King Joash had transgressed the commandments of the Lord. The Spirit of God came upon Zechariah, and he told Joash that because he had forsaken God, God had forsaken him. Joash didn't like this, so he and his court conspired against Zechariah, and had him stoned to death (2 Chronicles 24: 20-21.)
6. There is no name given of he/those who killed King Amon. Who was it who murdered King Amon of Jerusalem?

Answer: His servants

According to the scriptures, King Amon forsook the Lord and did not walk in His way. So his servants conspired against him, and eventually killed him in his own house. They did not get away though, as the people of the land then executed all those who had conspired to kill King Amon, and then crowned his son, Josiah, king in Amon's place (2 Kings 22-25.)
7. Where did Nebuchadnezzar kill Zedekiah's sons in front of him?

Answer: Riblah

Zedekiah and his followers, after an eighteen month siege, were attempting to escape from Jerusalem, away from Nebuchadnezzar. However, they were captured, and taken to Riblah, where Nebuchadnezzar slaughtered Zedekiah's sons, and then had Zedekiah's eyes burnt out (Jeremiah 39: 4-7.)
8. What day was it that Herodias' daughter danced, pleasing King Herod, and ultimately leading to the beheading of John the Baptist?

Answer: Herod's birthday

According to the Scriptures, it was King Herod Antipas's birthday, and he held a feast for the nobles, high officers and the chief men of Galilee. Herodias' daughter came in, and danced for Herod, which pleased him, and he told her that he would do whatever she wanted. So with a little of her mother's interference, she asked for the head of John the Baptist to be brought to her on a platter.

As much as it saddened Herod, he immediately sent an executioner to the prison, and had John beheaded, and brought his head to the girl (Mark 6:21-28.)
9. Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus to the chief priests, thus condemning Him to death. How did he identify Jesus to His captors?

Answer: Judas kissed Him

Judas had gone to the chief priests and had been paid thirty pieces of silver to betray Jesus. He told them that whoever he kissed was Jesus, and that they should seize Him (Matthew 26: 47- 49.) This action has lead to the phrase "the kiss of Judas".
10. How was St James, one of the Sons of Thunder, killed?

Answer: By the sword

St James was executed by King Herod Agrippa I by the sword, for his faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 12:1-2).
