Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Rachel was the mother of Joseph and Benjamin.

Answer: True

True. Rachel, the wife of Jacob, was the mother of Joseph and Benjamin, as per Genesis 35:24. According to Scripture, Rachel died giving birth to Benjamin. She was the younger sister of Leah, who was also married to Jacob.
2. No name is given in Scripture for Lot's wife who was turned into a pillar of salt.

Answer: True

True. No name is given for Lot's wife who was turned into a pillar of salt. Lot and his wife and two daughters were ordered by angels to flee Sodom and not look back as it was being destroyed by brimstone and fire. Lot's wife, however, looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. See Genesis 19:12-26 for details.
3. David and Jonathan were bitter adversaries.

Answer: False

False. To the contrary, David and Jonathan were the very best of friends. What made their friendship out of the ordinary is the fact Jonathan was the son of King Saul who desperately wanted to kill David. Even though he would've been part of the line of succession to replace his father as king, Jonathan was far and away David's best friend.

In fact, 1 Samuel 18:1, in the NKJV, states "the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul."
4. Two women are named Tamar in the Old Testament and both of them are involved in stories of a sexual nature.

Answer: True

True. There are two women named Tamar and both them are involved in stories of a sexual nature.

The first Tamar was the daughter-in-law of Judah who ended up bearing him two sons, Perez and Zerah. Scripture states Tamar disguised herself as a prostitute and became impregnated by Judah who surprisingly did not realize it was his daughter-in-law with whom he had sexual relations. (See Genesis 38:1-30)

Meanwhile, the second Tamar was the daughter of David and Maacah. According to 2 Samuel 13:1-18, Tamar was raped by her half-brother Amnon, the son of David and Ahinoam.
5. Naomi and Boaz were husband and wife.

Answer: False

False. Naomi was married to Elimelech who died leaving her a widow, as per Ruth 1:3. She was related to Boaz, who ended up marrying Naomi's daughter-in-law Ruth, who was also a widow. The book of Ruth is largely an account of a romance between Ruth, a Gentile woman, and Boaz, a Jewish gentleman.
6. Despite his best efforts, Paul was unable to raise Eutychus from the dead.

Answer: False

False. Scripture tells of Paul raising Eutychus from the dead after he tumbled out of a third-storey window while Paul was preaching in Troas. For details about Paul raising Eutychus from the dead, see Acts 20:7-12.

It was at Troas Paul had a vision of an unnamed man telling him to, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." as per Acts 16:8-11.
7. According to Scripture, Barnabas restored the sight of seven blind men at once.

Answer: False

False. There is no documentation in Scripture of Barnabas restoring the sight of anyone, let alone seven men at once. Barnabas was a worker in the early church who was originally known as Joses in the NKJV. Acts 4:36 states the apostles called him Barnabas as he was known for encouraging others.
8. Using the NKJV and the NIV, there is no woman in the New Testament with the name Susanna.

Answer: False

False. There is indeed a woman named Susanna in the New Testament. Her name appears in Luke 8:3, but apart from the fact Susanna was a follower of Jesus little is known about her. The verse is part of a passage telling of women who provided for Jesus. In addition to Susanna, the passage names Mary Magdalene and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward.
9. There's not a single quote in the New Testament from Matthew, also known as Levi. This even though he wrote the Gospel of Matthew and was one of the original Twelve Disciples.

Answer: True

It might come as a surprise to some, but the correct answer is 'true'. Despite the so-called high profile of Matthew, also known as Levi, there's not a single quote in the Bible from him. (In addition to Matthew, there isn't a single quote in Scripture from James the Lesser.) Matthew worked as a tax collector before following Christ.
10. Using the KJV, the NKJV and the NIV, the final word in the Christian Bible is "Amen".

Answer: True

True. Amen is the final word in Revelation 21:22, the last verse in the KJV, NKJV and NIV as well as a number of other translations. The final verse in the NKJV states, "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."

The New Life Version is one of a handful of Bible versions that does not use 'Amen' as the final word. Revelation 21:22 in the NLV reads, "May all of you have the loving-favor of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let it be so."
