Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Larry Johnson led the league in rushing attempts with 416. With those attempts, he averaged 111.8 yards a game. Which running back had more than 100 carries less on the season, but still finished over 100 yards per game (ypg) average?

Answer: Frank Gore

Frank Gore, of the San Francisco 49ers, carried the ball 312 times (9th in the league) but averaged 105.9 yards per game (3rd).
2. Which is the only duo of running backs who combined to have more touchdowns than LaDainian Tomlinson?

Answer: Larry Johnson & Maurice Jones-Drew

San Diego Charger LaDainian Tomlinson had 28 rushing touchdowns on the year. Only Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs(17) and Jacksonville Jaguar Maurice Jones-Drew (13) combined for more.
3. Who had the longest touchdown reception for the season?

Answer: Hank Baskett

It was an 89-yarder, barely beating out the Baltimore Raven's Mark Clayton and his 87-yarder. Hank Baskett was the second year receiver playing with Philadelphia.
4. Which running back was the only to have a reception over 75 yards in the season?

Answer: Larry Johnson

New Orleans Saint Reggie Bush was extremely close with a 74-yarder. Larry Johnson's 78-yarder held up at the only reception of 75+ yards for running backs.
5. Devin Hester was the best overall returner of the season (in most people's opinion), but he did not finish with the longest return average. Who did achieve this honor?

Answer: Justin Miller

Surprisingly, Hester finished 5th in league average for the Chicago Bears. Justin Miller from the Jets had an average return of 28.3 yards.
6. I was my team's starter, but threw 5 more interceptions than TDs. Who am I?

Answer: Ben Roethlisberger

After a breakout year before, he came back to Earth after a rough offseason and a motorcycle accident. He started in 15 of Pittsburgh's 16 team games, and the Steelers failed to make it back to the playoffs and defend their Super Bowl title.
7. Of all quarterbacks who started the majority of a team's games, who had the lowest QB rating in the season?

Answer: Bruce Gradkowski

Despite playing in 13 games, Bruce was only able to throw 9 touchdown passes for the Tampa Bay Bucs in 2006. Because of his poor performance, he was demoted from the starting quarterback role by the end of the season.
8. Peyton Manning led the league in QB rating. Who came in second place in 2006?

Answer: Damon Huard

Surprisingly, Damon Huard creeped into the runner-up position in quarterback rating for Kansas City. Peyton Manning had a rating of 101.0 while Damon Huard came in at 98.0. Huard's rating was more than 1.5 points higher than 3rd place QB, Drew Brees.
9. Who had the most pass attempts in the season?

Answer: Brett Favre

Brett and the Green Bay Packers had the most attempts, and he arguably was the worst out of the QBs listed. Despite having the down year that he did, he still is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.
10. Which team was the most penalized in the season?

Answer: Minnesota Vikings

Even though they led the league in penalties, they were 9th overall in penalty yardage. Their 123 penalties on the season were higher than Arizona and Detroit, who came in second and third place with 117 and 116 penalties, respectively.
