Answer: Boston

The Boston Patriots were an original member of the American Football League in 1960. They took part in the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. They moved to Foxborough in 1971 and because of the move, they wanted a name change. They originally wanted the name, Bay State Patriots, but the NFL rejected that one. The New England name was accepted in March 1971.
2. What was the name of the stadium the Patriots called home 1971-2001?

Answer: Foxboro Stadium

Also known as Schaefer Stadium from 1971-1982, and Sullivan Stadium from 1983-1989, Foxboro was home until their new stadium was completed in 2002.
3. What was the name of the stadium the Patriots moved to in 2002?

Answer: Gillette Stadium

Gillette Stadium was opened in 2002. It is the dual home of the Patriots and the New England Revolution soccer team. The stadium is located in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

The 1985 season Super Bowl game was held January 26, 1986. Super Bowl XX had the Patriots vs the Chicago Bears. The Bears defeated the Patriots 46-10.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Raymond Berry coached the team 1984-1989. That was his only pro football coaching job. He was a key member of the Baltimore Colts team that won two NFL Championships.

Answer: Bill Parcells

Parcells was hired for the 1993 season and assisted the Patriots to a nice little turn-around in his second season. In the 1996 season, his fourth and final with the Patriots, he led them to Super Bowl XXXI, though they lost to the Packers.
