The others listed did not even throw 30 in the season. Romo of the Cowboys threw 36. Tony surpassed his career high of 19 in 2006. Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers was third in the department with 32, then Peyton Manning of the Colts threw 31. Those were the only four to throw at least 30 in the season.

In 2006, only Peyton Manning threw 30 in the season. In 2005, Carson Palmer of the Bengals was the only QB to reach that 30-mark.

Backing up Tom Brady for New England, Vinny attempted only three passes in the season, completing two, but one of those two kept his streak alive.

Both Welker and Houshmandzadeh caught 112 passes to share the league lead in receptions, but both caught less than 1200 yards worth. There were seven receivers who caught more yardage than T.J. The receiving yardage title went to Reggie Wayne of the Colts with 1510.

Although Randy Moss of the Patriots caught for 100 yards in the final game against the Giants, he fell short with 1493 yards as the runner-up.

The others were the 3-13 Rams with 438, the 1-15 Dolphins with 437, the 4-12 Falcons allowing 414, and finally the 7-9 Broncos who allowed 409.

In 2006, the 49ers and Titans were the only teams to allow that 400-point mark.

The Patriots had the two biggest blowouts of the season. In week 8, they defeated the Redskins 52-7. The Patiots topped that in week 11 by embarrassing the Bills 56-10. The Patriots scored 30+ points in 12 of their 16 games in the season.

Answer: 8

Those eight dismal teams were the 1-15 Dolphins, the 3-13 Rams, the 4-12 Chiefs, Raiders, Jets, and Falcons, and the 5-11 Ravens and 49ers. It was the fifth season in a row that the Raiders lost 10 or more games in a season. This came after their 2002 11-5 AFC West Championship season.
