Answer: David Purley

Driving a LEC-Cosworth, Purley was going through Becketts when his throttle was stuck open. He crashed heavily, going from 108mph to zero in just over half a meter. Purley was subjected to 179.8G, the highest G-forces ever survived by a human.
2. What team did Alain Prost make his F1 debut with?

Answer: McLaren

Prost, the French and European F3 champion in 1979, was hired by McLaren to partner John Watson. In his debut at Buenos Aires Prost qualified 12th, ahead of his more experienced teammate, and eventually finished a respectable sixth.

Answer: John Love

Love, a driver in his mid-40s from Rhodesia, was leading with seven laps to go when the engine of his Cooper T79 sputtered. He entered the pits for fuel, and came back on track about 30 seconds behind eventual winner Pedro Rodriguez.

After making contact, Michael went off and Jacques managed to finish third, giving him enough points to win the WDC.

Afterwards Michael Schumacher was stripped of his position as 1997 WDC runner up.
