Sonja Henie won Olympic titles at St. Moritz, Switzerland (1928), Lake Placid, USA (1932), and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria (1936). Her father was a wealthy Oslo furrier who was able to provide Sonja with skating teachers in Germany, England, Switzerland and Austria, as well as studying ballet in London.

Hungarian Aladar Gerevich won fencing gold medals at six games - he took the championship in Team Sabre in 1932, 1936, 1948, 1952, 1956 and 1960 and the Individual Sabre gold in 1952.

Their Olympic wins were in 1964 and 1968 in Innsbruck, Austria and Grenoble, France, respectively. They continued to perform well into their 60s.

They also won a bronze medal at the 1994 games in Lillehammer when rules on professional participation were changed. Jayne Torvill was named an OBE (Officer Of the Order of the British Empire) in 2000. Six years later she and Dean began starring in the British television program "Dancing on Ice."

Virginia Wade is a former professional tennis player from the U. K. and a member of the Tennis Hall of Fame. Tenley Albright won the figure skating gold in 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, the first American to do so. Australian Margaret Smith Court is one of professional tennis' most lauded players.

Sale and Pelletier skated a flawless long program at the '02 Games while their rivals, the Russian pair of Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze, had an obvious stumble. When the latter was announced as having captured the gold the arena erupted in boos. After an investigation, it was determined that the French judge had given her first place vote to the Russians in exchange for a first-place vote for the French ice dancing team.

When her vote was thrown out, a tie resulted and both pairs were awarded the gold medal.

Answer: Janica Kosteliæ

Janica Kosteliæ was also the first woman to win three gold medals and four total medals in alpine skiing at one Olympic game. At Turin in 2006 Kosteliæ captured her record setting fourth Olympic gold when she won the Combined.
