Ciatrick Fason got a lot of the goal line carries, thus he led the team with 4 rushing touchdowns. Moore had the most rushing yards (662) and most carries (155) but he only had 1 touchdown. Michael Bennett was 2nd in yards with 473 on 126 carries. He also had 3 rushing touchdowns. Dante only had 1 rushing touchdown before he went down with injury.

The Vikings beat Kansas City 27-16, lost to the New York Jets 28-21, then defeated the San Diego Chargers 19-16. They won the final preseason game 23-21 over the eventual NFC champions, Seattle Seahawks. Also, Dante Culpepper never looked better coming off his best season ever in 2004.

In the 2005 preseason he looked better, and had Randy Moss. Culpepper threw 12 intceptions in 7 games and the Vikes went 2-5 in his last games as a Viking.

The Vikings had the 7th overall pick and selected WR Troy Williamson out of South Carolina. The 18th pick went to DE Erasmus James out of Wisconsin. With their second round pick which was #49, they took G Marcus Johnson out of Mississippi. The 3rd round they selected S Dustin Fox out of Ohio State (overall pick #80).

However Dustin Fox did not play in 2005 due to injury. RB Ciatrick Fason was selected in the 4th round with the 112th overall pick. He came out of Flordia.
