Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. If you grabbed the nose of the board with your front hand, you would have done which trick?

Answer: Nosegrab

Nosegrab is the answer because you are grabbing the nose.
2. If you grabbed the toe-side part of the board between your feet, which trick have you done?

Answer: Indy

An Indy is most likely the first trick every snowboarder should learn. It is usually the grab that is associated with spin tricks.
3. When you were in the air, you spun around so you were facing the opposite direction. Which move have you done?

Answer: 180

The number refers to how many degrees you are spinning. A 360 is a full turn. A 540 is a full turn and a half. A 720 is two full turns. And the list goes on. If you don't spin and land in a 180 degree angle, you most likely fall.
4. What trick have you done, when in the air you rotated 540 degrees, while at the same time doing a front flip?

Answer: McTwist

This trick was originally done by skateboarders and has passed on to snowboarding. It was invented by the skateboarder Mike McGill in the 1980s.
5. You were in the air and your front hand grabbed the board on the heelside edge between your feet, and pulled the board up to your head height. Which trick was this?

Answer: Method

This trick shows up in any sport that has the word board stuck in it. It is done by skateboarders, snowboarders, wakeboarders, and mountain boarders.
6. After going off a jump, you pushed off with the nose of your board and did a flip facing forwards. Which trick was this?

Answer: Nollie Frontflip

Nollies are the reverse of ollies. Instead of pushing off the ground with the tail, you push off with the nose. By pushing off with the nose of the board and doing a nollie, you are able to perform frontflips much easier.
7. If you did an Indy while you kept your knees locked, which trick have you performed?

Answer: Indy Stiffy

When you straighten one of your knees it is called boned (ex. Method-Method Boned). When both knees are straightened, the trick's name is changed to stiffy (ex. Mute-Mute Stiffy).
8. When in the air, your front hand grabbed the toe-side edge of the board either between your feet, or in front of your front foot. This trick was called what?

Answer: Mute

This is also one trick that was first done by skateboarders. It was named after the skateboarder Chris Weddle, a deaf mute known for being one of the first skateboarders to preform this trick.
9. Another name for inverted frontside 540 would be what?

Answer: Rodeo Flip

A snowboarder named Daniel Franck invented this trick in 2000. This had been his signature trick.
10. If your rear hand grabbed the tail of the board, which trick would that have been?

Answer: Tailgrab

Tailgrab is correct because you are grabbing the tail.
