1. Which of these Italian clubs did Liam Brady not play for in his career?

Answer: AC Milan

Liam Brady was born on the 13th of February, 1956. He played for Juventus from 1980 to 1982, Inter Milan from 1982 to 1984, and Sampdoria from 1984 to 1986. He has also played at club level for Arsenal, West Ham United, and Ascoli. He was only 15 when he signed for Arsenal.
Liam has worked on the coaching staff of both Arsenal and the Irish national team, as well as having done pundit work for RTE (Irish television).
2. Which of the following clubs has John Aldridge played for?

Answer: Oxford United

John was born on the 18th of September, 1958. He played for Oxford (1984-1987) and Liverpool (1987-1989) alongside fellow Irish international Ray Houghton.
John is perhaps most famously remembered by Irish fans for a foul-mouthed outburst against Mexico in a World Cup group game in 1994 (in the USA), when the referee delayed allowing him back on to the field of play.
John also played at club level for Tranmere Rovers and became the manager at the club too.
3. From which Irish football club did Nottingham Forest sign Roy Keane in 1990?

Roy played for Cobh Ramblers from 1989 until 1990 before Brian Clogh signed him for Nottingham Forest (1990-1993). Most famously however, Roy played for Manchester United from 1993 until 2005, where he missed playing in United's successful Champion's League victory in 1999 through suspension.
Controversy and Roy Keane clashed again in 2002 when he was sensationally sent home from the Irish World Cup squad just before the competition began.

Packie was born on the 24th of May, 1960. He was spotted by Celtic scouts whilst playing in goal in the FA Youth Cup for Leicester city and signed for Celtic in 1978. his Celtic career lasted 17 years. Packie played in two World Cups (1990 and 1994) and one Euro Cup (1988) for Ireland.

His most famous moment for Ireland (which is one of Ireland's most celebrated sporting moments) came in the 1990 World Cup when he saved a penalty from Romania's Daniel Timofte in the penalty shoot-out in the second round tie. Ireland went on to the quarterfinal stage where Italy knocked them out of the competition.

Niall was born on the 6th of October, 1966. He signed for Arsenal (1983-1990) as a schoolboy, before joining Manchester City (1990-1996) and Sunderland (1996-2002). Subsequently, Niall when on to become the chairman at Sunderland.
Niall has been involved with a lot of charity work, especially with the Crumlin children's hospital in Dublin. It has been reported that he helped raise money for the hospital through his testimonial match between the Irish national team and Sunderland. Fair play to the man.
One of the low points of Niall's international career was missing the 1994 World Cup in the USA due to injury. He stayed with the squad though, and did reporting work for RTE (Irish television) during the tournament.

Shay, born on the 20th of April, 1976, followed in the steps of fellow County Donegal man, Packie Bonner, by becoming a successful Irish international goalkeeper. He was on the books at Blackburn Rovers (1994-1997), Sunderland (on loan, 1996), Newcastle United (1997-2009) and signed for Manchester City in 2009.

Jack, born on the 8th of May, 1935, and won the World Cup as a player with England in 1966. He partnered the legendary Bobby Moore in the centre of England's defence throughout the competition. His Leeds United career spanned 21 years (1952-1973).
Known as 'Big Jack' to Irish fans, he presided over the Irish national team as they qualified for their first major international competition (Euro 88) and first two World Cups (1990 and 1994). Perhaps the most bittersweet day was the 1-0 victory Ireland enjoyed over England in Germany in 1988, with Ray Houghton heading the winning goal.
