The name of the showboat in this episode is very similar to the boat names in the last episode (The Picnic Island Queen and the Haunted Island Queen were the boat names).

Josie and the Pussycats were originally going to appear in another Scooby series, "Scooby's All Star Laff-A-Lympics," but due to issues with ownership with Archie Comics, they were written out at the last minute. The copyright ownership issue is also why this episode has never been released on DVD in any country, despite that Archie Comics and Warner Brothers were able to work out the rights for releasing the Hanna-Barbera adaption of "Josie and the Pussycats" and the sequel series "Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space," to be released on DVD.
