Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Yanked into the 31st century by Temporal Agent Daniels just as the Suliban are attacking the Enterprise, Captain Archer finds a planet in ruins with no apparent means of returning to his own time. Where do he and Daniels go to look for answers?

Answer: A library

Daniels is unsure of the usefulness of going to the library, given that there is no working electricity in the ruined city and the library is all computer-based. Thus, when they arrive to the library and find it filled with paper books, Daniels is stunned.

Daniels is also quick to realize that Captain Archer's absence from the historical timeline has changed something very significant. There is no longer a monument to the Federation in front of the library, nor any reference to it that he can find.

Captain Jonathan Archer was played by Scott Bakula, while Temporal Agent Daniels was portrayed by Matt Winston.
2. With their warp core targeted and Captain Archer gone, Sub-Commander T'Pol surrenders to the Suliban and allows them to board without resistance.

Answer: True

The Suliban leader, Silik, demands that they turn over Captain Archer, as he has been ordered by the mysterious figure from the future that has been directing his actions. They search the ship but find Archer missing, just as T'Pol has claimed, and traces of a temporal signature at his last known location.

What they do find are the data disks that the Enterprise crew acquired from the Suliban computers that proved that it was the Suliban that destroyed the colony on Paraagan II, and not the Enterprise.

In the meantime, the Enterprise crew are confined to their quarters, and Sub-Commander T'Pol is taken for questioning.

Jolene Blalock played the part of Sub-Commander T'Pol, while John Fleck took on the role of Silik.
3. Believing the Enterprise to be responsible for the destruction of the colony on Paraagan II, the Vulcan Ambassador Soval demands that the Enterprise end its mission. When the Enterprise is delayed, what ship do the Vulcans send to collect Sub-Commander T'Pol?

Answer: D'kyr

The ECS Horizon is an Earth ship (Earth Cargo Ship), the IRW Khazara is Romulan (Imperial Romulan Warbird), and the IKS Ch'tang is Klingon (Imperial Klingon Ship).

When the Enterprise misses its rendezvous to be escorted back to Earth, the D'kyr is sent to find them. On long range scanners they are able to see several vessels join the Enterprise NX-01 and then move out of range. As viewers we learn that the Suliban take the Enterprise to a nearby helix facility hidden in a nebula.

Ambassador Soval was played by Gary Graham.
4. In the far future, Agent Daniels determines where the timeline has diverged. He confirms that everything is correct up until what historical event with which Archer was inextricably linked?

Answer: The Warp Five program

As is inferred by the results of pulling Archer out of the timeline, everything that he would be involved in after the events of Season 1 of "Enterprise" would be different. And, evidently significantly different.

The only answer option that Archer was involved with was the Warp Five program, which resulted in the launch of the Enterprise NX-01.

The other options all predate Jonathan Archer's birth: the first warp flight and subsequent first contact happened in 2063 ("Star Trek: First Contact") and the colonization of Mars (2103) occurred eight years before Archer's birth in 2111.
5. Daniels, using his more advanced technical knowledge, cobbles together a temporal communications device out of Archer's communicator and scanner. Which Enterprise crew member does Captain Archer reach using this device?

Answer: Sub-Commander T'Pol

Sub-Commander T'Pol, having just returned from a gruelling interrogation session with the Suliban, is quite disoriented when Archer appears as a partial hologram, seemingly suspended from the ceiling. It takes some time for T'Pol to understand what Archer is telling her, and in the midst of it all she also has to combat her own disbelief in time travel, but Archer manages to pass on instructions that will provide a means for him to return to the correct time.
6. Commander Tucker is able to finagle a communication link between himself and the other confined officers and together they come up with a plan to put Captain Archer's instructions into effect. Which claustrophobic, but smallest, of the officers is chosen to climb into the confined EPS conduit crawlspace to move around the ship?

Answer: Ensign Sato

To make the plan work, Ensign Sato has to crawl through the tight space for 45 meters to get a hypospray from Dr. Phlox, then continue on to just outside Lieutenant Reed's quarters, so that she can let him out and provide him with the hypospray to knock out the guard on 'Crewman' Daniels' old quarters.

Humorously, when Hoshi drops out of the shaft, her shirt gets caught and comes off, so that when she opens up Reed's quarters, he is presented with a rather unexpected sight.

Commander Tucker was played by Connor Trinneer, Ensign Sato by Linda Park, Dr. Phlox by John Billingsly, and Dominic Keating portrayed Lieutenant Reed.
7. Lieutenant Reed makes his way to 'Crewman' Daniels' old quarters, which had been sealed off, and successfully retrieves a device hidden without being caught.

Answer: False

As Reed is pulling the mysterious device from its hiding place he is discovered and taken captive. He is immediately put to the question about the device and as he is being soundly beaten, Reed tells Silik that Captain Archer wanted him to destroy the device before Silik was able to use it to contact his master (also from the future).

Taking his statement at face value, Silik returns to his temporal chamber and connects the device to try to contact his master, who has been incommunicado since Archer disappeared.
8. How does the crew manage to get the Suliban off of the Enterprise?

Answer: They simulate a warp core overload

As soon as the Suliban are off the ship, the Enterprise enters warp to find the Vulcan ship D'kyr, but the Suliban are quick to pursue.
9. Captain Archer is brought back to the present through the use of the device from Daniels' quarters. Who made this happen?

Answer: Silik

Silik, having confiscated the device from Reed and returned to his temporal chamber to try to get it to work, thinks that the figure that is forming as he operates the device is his mysterious master from the future, but then all of a sudden, Captain Archer leaps out of the distortion and quickly subdues Silik.

He then takes Silik with him in a Suliban cell ship and catches up to the Enterprise. Using Silik as a hostage, he is able to force the remaining Suliban to withdraw, and Archer successfully returns to the Enterprise, unscathed.
10. Even with proof of their innocence in the destruction of Paraagan II, Captain Archer is unable to convince the Vulcan High Command not to cancel the Enterprise's mission. Who else speaks up on behalf of the crew?

Answer: Sub-Commander T'Pol

Captain Archer makes an impassioned speech about crawling before walking, and that mistakes will be made, and when Ambassador Soval dismisses that argument, Sub-Commander T'Pol interjects, citing how the Vulcans also learned from their mistakes in their development, and recently at that (citing the listening post at P'Jem). Ambassador Soval just walks away instead of responding.

Later, however, Admiral Forrest contacts Archer to confirm that the mission will continue.

Probably the best part of the episode, though (in my opinion), are the very last lines spoken:
T'Pol - "I still don't believe in time travel."
Archer - "The hell you don't!"
