Morgan, the man who Jack Bauer went to meet in Alexis Drazen's place, had worked in a power plant in Saugus, California. When Senator David Palmer contacted Jack Bauer with an address found in Victor Drazen's file and told Bauer that the address was in Saugus, Bauer decided to go there. Bauer had CTU check on the address and found that it was in the area of the power grid, and it was a wildlife preserve.

When Jack Bauer told George Mason about the address that Senator David Palmer had provided him in Saugus, Mason insisted in accompanying him there. Mason told him he was Bauer's chaperone. When they arrived at the area, however it didn't appear to be a wildlife preserve; there wasn't any wildlife there. Mason finally decided to leave while Bauer stayed to see what would happen there at the time that Morgan was supposed to turn off the power to the area.

Answer: There had been a cover-up involving his son.

Senator Palmer admitted to the cover-up regarding his son's involvement in the death of his daughter's rapist. Sherry Palmer was not pleased; she told Palmer that he had ruined his career. However, despite predictions, Senator Palmer's poll numbers did not decline; voters said that they liked his honesty.

When Tony Almeida found out that the safe house had been attacked, he told George Mason, but Mason told him not to say anything to Jack Bauer since Bauer was working on an operation. When Nina Myers arrived back at CTU, Almeida told her what had happened, and she called Mason.

He turned off his phone and then asked to borrow Bauer's, claiming that his battery had died. When Bauer gave it to him, Mason turned Bauer's phone off so that Myers couldn't reach him.

Ira Gaines hadn't paid Dan and Rick, so there was no money to pay the dealers. Since Frank didn't have Dan's money, he planned to steal the drugs, and then kill the dealers. But the dealers turned out to be undercover agents, and when the leader told Frank his Miranda rights, other agents burst in and arrested everyone, including Kim Bauer.

Dr. Phil Parslow had asked his friend Chris to come to Teri Bauer's house to protect her, but Teri didn't want a gun in the house, so he stayed outside. When he came in to use the restroom, the assassin shot him and then shot Parslow. He was about to shoot Teri when Tony Almeida shot him.

Jack Bauer discovered a cement staircase leading underground, and when he reached the bottom, ear-piercing sirens went off, and he was tasered by men in swat gear. After he recovered, he met Agent Mark DeSalvo, who told him that Bauer was in a Department of Defense facility.

Answer: A prisoner was being delivered.

Agent DeSalvo told Jack Bauer that he was the warden of a DOD detention facility and that prisoners there were rotated periodically. A prisoner was expected to be delivered to that location that evening at the time that Morgan, Alexis Drazen's contact, was supposed to turn off power to the grid serving the area.

Answer: Victor Drazen was still alive.

Agent DeSalvo told Jack Bauer that he didn't know who the prisoner was and that Bauer couldn't speak or see him. Bauer went into the security room where he could see all of the security camera feeds, and he saw the prisoner in the holding room. When the man turned around, Bauer realized it was Victor Drazen. Bauer told DeSalvo that his mission in Kosovo two years ago to kill Drazen must have been set up to fail from the start.

Sherry Palmer was celebrating the voting results with the rest of the staff, but Senator David Palmer wasn't in the room. When she found him, he told her that she couldn't really love him if she had lied to him all those years. She became angry and told him that he would never leave her and that he needed to come to the party and celebrate with his staff who had worked so hard to put "us" in office, which angered David Palmer since he was the one running for president.
