2. At the crime scene, it was stated that the victim struggled with her assailant.

Answer: False

Kevin, Javier and Kate were at the crime scene doing their investigation and they learned more about the victim. Based off the woman's wounds, it was stated that she did not put up a struggle with her attacker. On top of that, the team did not believe there was any forcible entry for this particular case.
3. Where was the victim shot?

Answer: Chest

The team was surveying the victim to see how she died. Based off their assessment, they concluded that she died due to a single gunshot wound to the chest. During this assessment, the victim was also identified as Shana Baker.
4. Where did the victim work?

Answer: School

Shana Baker worked as an admissions director at a local preschool. Per her co-worker at the college, Shana had been working long hours as of late since she was issuing acceptance and denial letters to prospective students. They heard an angry voicemail on her phone from someone who threatened her after she rejected the person's child.
5. Who was attacked early on in the show?

Answer: Castle

Castle was following someone who had the victim's dog. He proceeded down the same alley that this individual was traversing. The person encountered Castle and placed him in a choke hold. Castle informed him he was a private investigator working on solving Shana Baker's murder so this prompted the person to cooperate with him. He apologized for attacking Castle.
6. What was the name of the victim's dog?

Answer: Sparkles

Castle started to talk to the person who had Shana Baker's dog. He mentioned that Shana was leaving town and wanted him to watch over her dog, Sparkles, for some time. Castle jokingly stated that the man must have been gentler around dogs than with people.
7. Just before the victim's death, she traveled to which city?

Answer: Boston

The team did further investigating and learned that the victim had arrived home from a trip to Boston the day of her murder. 8. Who was Jeff Whalen?

Answer: The victim's ex-boyfriend

Answer: The New York Ledger

Shana realized that a newspaper writer named Frank Jackson published an article in the newspaper at Radnor University that had to do with Jeff Whalen's death. 10. What item at the crime scene had DNA on it?

Answer: Cigarette butt

The team figured the best way to track the killer would be to get a DNA test done on the cigarette butt that was at the crime scene. Spalding threw away a cup of coffee one day so Javier and Kevin grabbed it and tested Spalding's DNA on it from the cigarette butt.
