8.19 "Dead Again" Trivia Quiz

The episode began with a gentleman who was on hold for a while with his cable company since he mentioned that he ordered a channel and it was not showing on his television. The lady said he contacted the wrong department so he was placed on hold again. He then ingested some pills but, shortly afterwards, started gurgling and died.

The team went to the crime scene and Lanie said that the victim was Alan Masters and he died via poisoning. Lanie stated that it was his water that was poisoned. However, Alan showed up alive. It was revealed that the substance which poisoned him is often in fish.

Kate spoke to a doctor at the hospital and she said that Alan was very much alive but that he injected something into his liver. Kate was surprised that he survived the poisoning since the substance which poisoned him was very strong. Castle mentioned that Alan was a "modern day Lazarus".

Alan mentioned that a gentleman he knew named Dave had often joked about killing him but used colorful language so the team thought he might have acted on it. Dave was brought in for questioning and he said he was nauseous over blood so it was unlikely he would kill anyone. Dave claimed he was at dinner when Alan "died".

Alan went to his home and Castle congratulated him on being alive so Alan told him he wanted to go to bed. As he got into his bed, the lights in the apartment hallway started to go in and out. Castle burst into his room and saw that the bed was rigged to electrocute Alan. While it seemed like Alan was dead for real, he survived that attempt, too.

Castle was in Alan's hospital room when he called him a superhero since he survived two attempts on his life. Alan was still wondering why he was being targeted and then the team informed him of a company that Alan tried to shut down. It was a biopharmaceutical company and he said that someone there begged him not to shut down the company.

Gwen worked at the pharmaceutical company which Alan tried to shut down and she claimed that she found him humorous. Midway through the episode, Castle encouraged Alan to call Gwen and ask her out. Alan telephoned Gwen and asked her to dinner. He was happy when she agreed to the dinner.

While Alan was out to dinner with Gwen, Castle got a call from Kevin about the case. Kevin informed him there was a guy named Horatio Spate and he was accused of executing many people so they wondered if he tried to kill Alan. Horatio then showed up at the restaurant and, during his talk with Alan, he asked him to adopt a more laissez faire approach with inspecting his company, Bullseye Waste Management.

There was a mob organization's name which popped up that was The Triads and they might have attempted to kill Alan. The Triads and Horace were speculated to have imported synthetic heroin into the nation since it could make them billions. Alan saw that some synthetic heroin which they seized contained an ingredient which he spotted during an inspection.
