Clover is very excited for her audition; she even dresses up for her audition. However, she forgets the lines during the audition and completely blows it.

Clover dresses up in peasant clothes during her audition to look authentic; however, she forgets what Cosette is to say, and substitutes her own lines, including words such as "car", which did not exist centuries ago (when the play takes place).

After Clover embarrasses herself by forgetting the lines, Sam recites them perfectly and in the diction of the time. The director becomes mesmerized by Sam's perfection and gives her the role.

Sam does not audition for the play, but recites the lines to show Clover how easy it is. The director likes what he hears, and gives Sam the part. She is reluctant at first, but later embraces the role.

The episode begins with two scientists being abducted. They were supposed to attend the conference, but their absence was noticed, which prompted Jerry to send the girls to the conference undercover. Clover was especially excited that the conference was in Paris, one of her favorite cities.

Although Clover and Alex originally dismiss this, Sam begins to notice this odd pattern. They later ask Jerry to give them the subjects of upcoming quizzes; Jerry reluctantly agrees to do so in order to save the scientists.

While undercover, Clover gets into a conversation with a Cro Magnon specialist. Right before they can finish, the scientists get abducted. In keeping with the newly discovered pattern, the scientist's specialty (Cro Magnon man) is the subject of one of the girls' upcoming quizzes.

The kidnapper is actually the Ambassador from the fictional nation of Chewbaccastan. (There wasn't really a reason for naming the country after the Wookie from "Star Wars"; if there was, it wasn't made known.) The girls know him because his son just transferred into their class.

When Jerry tells Sam, Clover, and Alex about how the Ambassador is the one behind the kidnappings, he mentions that he lives on Marmalade Street. Sam then exclaims that his house is right next to hers.

The kidnapper set up a complex set of machines in his basement. He is holding his victims there, and draining their knowledge to help his son ace all the upcoming quizzes. However, the boy's head grows with each bit of knowledge he absorbs, which is an unpleasant side effect.
