1. Which of the following shows was the official name of a "Star Trek" series?

Answer: Star Trek: Phase II

The original "Star Trek" series was produced in 1966-67 and ran for just 3 seasons. It spawned a number of spin-off series though, including "Deep Space Nine", "Enterprise", "Voyager" and "Phase II".
2. There was a 1980s UK TV show about a grandmother with super powers. It was called "Super Nan".

All details are correct except the name: it was actually called "Super Gran". It ran for two seasons plus a Christmas special. The grandmother acquires her superpowers in the first episode when she is hit with the power of a raygun while watching her grandson play soccer.
3. What name was the original 1987 TV show "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" given in the UK?

Answer: Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles

This was reportedly on the insistence of the then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, who was concerned about the focus on ninjas and in particular ninja weapons. The show was also edited to remove parts that focused on the use of weapons such as nunchakus.
4. Which show, first airing in 2006, revolves around an unfashionable girl working in a New York high-end fashion magazine?

Answer: Ugly Betty

"Ugly Betty" was adapted from a Colombian show called "Yo soy Betty, la fea". The show ran for four seasons, following a large drop-off in viewership during seasons 3 and 4.
5. Which of these shows starred Kristen Bell as a young private investigator?

Answer: Veronica Mars

"Veronica Mars" was created by Rob Thomas, who was a writer in the first season of "Dawson's Creek" and later created "90210". Airing from 2004-2009, "Veronica Mars" also helped the career of Amanda Seyfreid, who appeared in 4 episodes.
6. There was a 13 episode TV show called "The Wizard of Oz" broadcast in 1990, based on the movie of the same name.

Answer: True

"The Wizard of Oz" was an animated TV show produced in the US, first airing on the ABC network. It had many similarities to the film, although given its length (13 episodes of 30 minutes) it covered many more plotlines, including Dorothy's ongoing struggle to work out how to correctly work her ruby slippers.
7. Which of these TV shows was a US reality TV show that ran for 2 seasons?

Answer: Who Wants to be a Superhero?

"Who Wants to be a Superhero?" ran for a total of 14 episodes in 2006-07 on the US Sci-Fi channel. Created and hosted by comic book guru Stan Lee, the show involved people inventing and dressing up as their own superheroes, with the ultimate prize being having the winner's character appear in a comic book and a movie.
8. What's the full title of the TV series, first appearing in 1995, that featured Lucy Lawless as the main character?

Answer: Xena: Warrior Princess

Xena was a recurring character in a prior show, "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys", and was given her own show due to the popularity of that character. The spin-off proved to be significantly more successful than the original show, eventually being picked up by networks in over 100 countries.
9. Which of these shows is a classic British comedy about four undergraduate students sharing a house?

Answer: The Young Ones

"The Young Ones" aired from 1982-1984. It is a cult classic, with the characters Mike, Rick, Vyvyan and Neil embarking on some often strange but always amusing adventures. Like many successful British shows it only aired for a short duration and finished while it was still very popular; running for just 2 seasons of 6 episodes each.
10. Selma Blair starred as one of the title characters in a 1999-2000 TV show called "Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane".

Answer: True

Blair played Zoe Bean in a teen sitcom that lasted just 26 episodes. In its second season it was renamed to simply "Zoe..." and changed the focus from teenage high school students to college kids.
