Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Voyager was this class of ship.

Answer: intrepid

Voyager had 15 decks and almost one-tenth the crew complement that the Enterprise-D had. The ship was equipped with bio-neural circuitry, which made the computer more efficient. When Janeway told Tom Paris she was taking her ship into the Badlands, he didn't believe her ship could survive. Well, it would have - had it not been thrown into the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker.
2. Dr. Zimmerman was here when the Doctor went to visit him in "Life Line."

Answer: Jupiter Station

Dr. Zimmerman was dying and the Doctor was sent from the Delta Quadrant back to Jupiter Station to try and help him. Unfortunately, Dr. Zimmerman turns out to be just as stubborn as Voyager's doctor and it takes the entire episode for Dr. Zimmerman to agree to be treated by Voyager's EMH.
3. Food that Chakotay and Kellin shared in "Unforgettable."

Answer: ice cream

Kellin was a woman who contacted Voyager and knew the crew (especially Chakotay) quite well. However, Voyager's crew had no memory of her. She explained that aliens cannot retain memory of her species, and that she had been aboard the ship before.
4. What music group was Harry a member of while still on Earth?

Answer: Julliard Youth Symphony

In "Caretaker", Janeway tells Tuvok that she had received a call from Harry's mother just before they were due to leave Deep Space Nine. Harry had forgotten his clarinet and his mother wondered if there was time to send it for him. Janeway had to tell his mother there wasn't any time and during the conversation, she learns that Harry had been a member of the Julliard Youth Symphony.
5. Tom Paris created a holodeck program that many of the crew enjoyed. However, Tom and Harry debated over the weather for the program. Tom wanted sunny skies and Harry thought that fog and rain would be more appropriate. In what country was this program set?

Answer: Ireland

"Fair Haven" was Tom's program that everyone, especially the captain, enjoyed. Janeway even ended up having a romantic relationship with the bartender that Tom had programmed and Harry had a romance with a flower vendor.
6. When Neelix's lungs were removed by the Vidiians, the doctor had to use what restraint to keep him still so the holographic lungs could work?

Answer: isotropic restraint

Unfortunately, the lungs were altered and implanted into a Vidiian so implanting them back into Neelix wasn't possible. However, the Vidiians did help alter one of Kes' lungs so that she could donate one to Neelix in "Phage."
7. Most everyone knows that Seska was a traitor and wound up trying to help the Kazon capture Voyager. However, not many people remember there was another traitor aboard the ship who helped Seska. What was his or her name?

Answer: Jonas

Michael Jonas sabotaged Voyager, sent the Kazon intelligence reports and basically was a very bad man. During "investigations," Neelix started poking around and figured out that it was Jonas who was actually the spy, not Tom Paris as the rest of the crew had been led to believe. Of course, Jonas died in this episode while trying to stop Neelix from telling anyone about his spying activities aboard the ship.
8. Birthplace of Captain Janeway.

Answer: Indiana

Captain Janeway talked about her childhood many times throughout the show. She told Neelix about the bad lightning storms they'd have (it seems our fearless captain was actually afraid of them). She described the hot and humid weather of the summer and growing up in an agricultural area where her parents made sure their children knew basic skills, like gardening. (The captain hated gardening, she'd have much rathered curling up with a book on quantum mechanics instead of 'muck[ing] around in the dirt'.)
9. This caused the Delta Flyer to have to attempt a crash landing in "Once Upon a Time."

Answer: ion storm

The Delta Flyer went down and Voyager's crew had to find the ship and rescue its crew (Tuvok, Paris and Samantha Wildman). While trying to bring back the trio alive, Neelix tries to divert Naomi's attention by playing Flotter holodeck programs. However, the one Naomi chooses ended with the demise of her beloved character.
10. Nourishment that Neelix served to the 37s.

Answer: Jell-O

He also added some fruit cocktail to it in order to make the 37s feel more 'at home' in the 24th century. Jestral tea was what Lwaxana Troi ordered in the episode "Cost of Living." (This is when the replicator malfunctioned and she ended up with the tea, plus some Petrokian sausages.)
11. Tuvok took his four 'misfits' into what part of the ship as part of their physical fitness training in "Learning Curve"?

Answer: Jefferies tube

Tuvok made the crewmembers go all through the ship - without using any turbolifts.
12. Tuvok created a holodeck program to train his security teams in the event that the Maquis tried to take over Voyager. What was the name of his program?

Answer: Insurrection Alpha

In "Worst Case Scenario," this program was 'the rage' for all the crew. Perhaps part of the intrigue of this program was that the author was anonymous. It turns out that Tuvok had begun to write the program as a precaution in case the Maquis tried to take over control of the ship.

However, as time went on and that scenario became unlikely, Tuvok stopped work on the program. Tom Paris convinced Tuvok to help him finish the program (as all the crew wanted to know how it ended), however they were unaware the Seska had found the program, and written an ending of her own.
13. What was the last name of Janeway's fiance, whom she left to command Voyager?

Answer: Johnson

Mark Johnson was seen saying goodbye to Kathryn in "Caretaker." Apparently, Kathryn's dog was pregnant and Mark had taken her home to care for her while Kathryn was away on Voyager. (Mark had said something about a 'love me, love my dog' issue.) We hear about him again in "Hunters", when he sent a long-distance "I'm leaving you for another woman" letter, although I'm sure it was phrased much nicer than what I have just written.

Note: Mark's last name was never stated in the series, but if you have a good television, you can see it when the screen shows the PADD with his letter in "Hunters." His last name was originally established in Jeri Taylor's novel "Mosaic."
14. Kazon we meet in "Caretaker." Neelix had apparently stolen some water from him.

Answer: Jabin

As Maje of the Kazon-Ogla, Jabin was in charge of the settlement. Neelix brought Voyager's crew to Jabin's group in order to try and liberate Kes, who had been abused by the group of Kazon.
15. Last name of the admiral who appeared to the captain when she was having her 'near death experience' in the episode "Coda."

Answer: Janeway

Admiral Janeway, Kathryn's father, appeared to try and lure her 'towards the light'. Our captain finally figured out that it wasn't really her father and that it was actually an alien being bent on trying to get her into his matrix to nourish him for a long, long time.

Another Admiral Janeway appeared in the final episode of the series - this was Kathryn from the future, having been promoted after Voyager returned to the Alpha Quadrant. This brings up a question: Had her father still been alive, how would you differentiate between the two Admiral Janeways? ;)
