Karen has successfully disguised herself as Mr Krabs, of all people, on numerous occasions. She has nearly helped Plankton to trick SpongeBob into giving over the Krabby Patty formula, until Plankton's idiocy has doomed them every time. In particular, Plankton had Karen install a self-detonation device on her disguise in "Imitation Krabs" which is activated by the insertion of a single penny.

It is never revealed why he did this, nor why Karen agreed to such a thing, but SpongeBob inserting a penny into this device inadvertently is what caused this plan to fail in this episode. An exploding Karen annihilates the Chum Bucket and sends the formula flying back to SpongeBob.

Karen seems to stimulate Plankton's intelligence considerably. Without Karen, Plankton has proven to have difficulty remembering to even blink properly.

She is also majorly responsible for coming up with many of his evil plans.
