Steve Taylor (Jack Davenport) is attempting to end his relationship with the vivacious Jane Christie (Gina Bellman) but she refuses to accept it. We are given the impression that he has attempted to end this relationship several times in the past, only to be seduced by Jane at the last moment. Jeff Murdoch (Richard Coyle) terms her 'unflushable' in typical 'Jeff' style.

It is during such a seduction that Steve meets Susan in the ladies' toilet and asks her out. It is not the first time that they have met, but the first time that Steve remembers. Somewhat surprisingly, given the circumstances, Susan accepts.

Unknown to Susan, Jane is inside in a state of undress and therefore Steve makes an excuse that he isn't finished despite having already washed his hands! He will not let Susan enter. Susan is unable to use the other cubicle because it is out of order. The role of Susan Walker is played by Sarah Alexander. Jeff does not enter the ladies' bathroom in this scene.

During their first date, the four friends tagged along. Susan suggests cooking for Steve and both the girls and boys speculate as to her ulterior motives!
We discover in this episode that Susan's fantasy male is Angus Deayton, and Steve's fantasy female is Mariella Frostrup. Both actors have cameos in this episode.

Patrick is Susan's ex and remarks to Steve that Susan has an alarming number of remote controls. Steve attempts to turn on the television but finds that there are no batteries. The role of Patrick is played by Ben Miles.

Jane arrives on Steve's door in tears insisting that he accompany her to her aunt's funeral since Jane and Steve were a couple for several years. He isn't comfortable with this idea since he is now in a relationship with Susan. Susan agrees that he can go but only if she goes too. Since Jane wants it to appear to her relatives that she and Steve are still a couple, Susan believes that it would be a good idea to ask Patrick to go to the funeral too as her date! Patrick is uncomfortable going too so asks Sally (Kate Isitt) to be his date. Jeff goes because he actually knew Jane's aunt!

Steve is embarrassed that Susan has caught him red-handed and attempts to mask this with an 'I love you'. This embarrassment is nothing compared to the humiliation he later encounters at the dinner party where everyone knows! At the end of the dinner party, Steve accidentally tells Susan that he loves her for real.

All of the group are transfixed by the sight of the Israeli beauty - even the girls. In fact, the girls are delighted when they discover that she hasn't removed the sticky label from the bottom of her shoe since it makes her that little bit less perfect in their eyes.
Jeff attempts conversation and despite several typical Jeff faux pas, he's lucky because she doesn't speak a word of English. Unfortunately this is a two-edged sword as it also means that he fails to turn up for a date with her and instead meets her translator, Alice. Poor Jeff!

This is the ultimate breakdown in communication since Jeff mistakenly believes that 'Shadayim' is the girl's name whereas in fact it's Hebrew for 'breasts'!

Jane reveals this interesting tidbit to the group but this concerns Susan since she is one of Patrick's exes. She visits Patrick for assurance that he'll never show the video to anyone and he agrees that it's for his eyes only. Later that evening, Susan calls over to Patrick's flat only to discover that the friends are watching the video.

She's even more cross when she discovers that the video isn't even of her!

Susan is willing to salvage her relationship with Steve if he proposes. The moment is somewhat spoilt by Jeff's presence under the bed!
