Answer: Fred packing to go to college.

At the beginning of "A Hole In The World" Fred is packing for her trip to California to major in Physics. At the end of "Shells", there is another flashback of Fred driving away from home on her way to California.

2. How many known Acolytes does Illyria have in Wolfram and Hart at this point of the series?

Answer: 2

Knox and the brain-upgrade-man were working together to get Illyria transported to Wolfram and Hart and Gunn inadvertently helped by getting the sarcophagus out of customs. In "Shells" Knox turns out to be Illyria's Quahazan.

3. We find out what Gunn had signed for in the episode "Smile Time", to make its way out of customs. What was it?

Answer: A sarcophagus

Illyria (and a large batch of other Old Ones) was reserved in a sarcophagus. Knox had it delivered into the Fred's lab.

4. Between cavemen and astronauts, whom does Angel believe would win in a fight?

Answer: Astronauts

Spike believed cavemen would when because they were a primal force. Angel said astronauts would because the race had evolved. Fred answered the debate on her deathbed saying that cavemen would win. When Fred was invaded by a pathogenic version of Illyria (the primal force) doctors and their technology (the astronauts) stood no chance.

5. Lorne really stood out in "A Hole In The World" when he punched which character?

Answer: Eve

Yes, Krevlorneswath was violent! He threatened to kill Eve, before Angel and Spike even had the chance, if she didn't sing for him so he could read her. After saying that Lindsey and she didn't care for Fred in their plans, Lorne decked her. He also informed her that her future wasn't bright and if he had to face her future he would "make like Carmen Miranda and die."

6. What are the Old Ones?

Answer: Ancient demons

The Old Ones were the demons that once walked the earth before humans took over, and the remaining Old Ones went into different dimensions and disappeared. While they ruled over this dimension they were constantly killing each other, and placed into sarcophagi in the Deeper Well. If you remember from the "Buffy" episode "The Harvest", Giles explained that a vampire mixed his blood with a human before leaving this realm, thus creating our modern vampires. Illyria was both "loved and hated" as some gods are, so I had to add that to the choices.

Answer: Not me

The last act of "A Hole In The World" was just heart-wrenching. Wesley having Fred die in his arms. So sad! this quote was the one that really made me start the water works.

The first thing that changed was Fred's eyes. The parts of her body and some of her hair turned blue.

Fred's body became the vessel that brought Illyria back into the world. It even harden to act as a literal shell.

The Conduit took the appearance of Gunn to beat up the real Gunn, because he took the Conduit for granted. Plus, in my opinion, I feel that the conduit was pleased by Gunn's giving into Wolfram and Hart so completely that he was paying the consequences for that, and seeing the Conduit that way proved that Gunn was truly apart of the company.

11. Why is it, that what happened to Fred is eating away at Angel?

Answer: Because this is how he lost Cordelia.

In "Shells" Angel specifically said that he lost Cordy because some evil nasty thing crawled its way into her and used her up until there was nothing left, and he couldn't lose Fred the same way.

Answer: Telekinesis

She can slow down time in order to leave a fight she feels is not worth her time.

Giles put Angel on hold, and refused to seek Willow out for Angel because he still worked for Wolfram and Hart.
