Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Gallagher home was owned by their Aunt Ginger, but when the Illinois Office of Inspector General appeared on the doorstep asking to talk to Ginger about her benefit checks, the Gallaghers needed to find her fast. Unfortunately, Frank disclosed that she had died over 10 years earlier and he had been illegally cashing her benefit checks the entire time. How did the Gallagher family get rid of the Inspector General's investigation?

Answer: Borrowed an elderly woman with dementia from a nursing home to pose as Aunt Ginger

The Gallaghers needed a roof over their head and once Frank told them that Ginger was dead and buried in the backyard, they needed to come up with a plan quick. Fortunately, Veronica worked in a nursing home and was able to use her credentials to get the family in so that they could select an elderly woman to pose as Aunt Ginger.

The woman they found was positively precious and lovely, forming a very fast bond with Debbie, and she played her role perfectly, whether she knew it or not.
2. Monica Gallagher bailed on her children when her youngest was only a few months old, leaving all of the children in the care of Fiona, who had to drop out of high school to care for everyone. However, when Monica reappeared with her girlfriend, Roberta, in season 1, she had a dastardly ulterior motive. What do Monica and Roberta announce as their plans?

Answer: To take Liam and raise him as their own

As it turns out, Monica and Roberta had come back primarily to snatch up Liam and take him with them. They argued that they deserved a family of their own and that Liam, being mixed race, would be better raised by them because Monica was his 'mother' and Roberta was African-American. Fiona and all of the children were devastated and furious, especially given that their mother had no desire to care for them and was, as Fiona said, only coming back to take her "pick of the litter." In the end, Fiona made her realize that she was not fit to raise Liam, or any of them, and that the most generous thing she could do for any of them would be to leave, without Liam.
3. Fiona did not have the greatest track record with men, until she started dating her boss at Worldwide Cup, Mike, who was an all-around good guy looking for a woman to spend his life with. Things may have gone well for a while, but then Fiona made a huge mistake and messed everything up. What did Fiona do that ended her relationship with Mike?

Answer: Cheated with Mike's brother on multiple occassions

Fiona had a good thing going at Worldwide Cup and choosing to date her boss was probably not the wisest decision to make. However, even as things with him were going great, she got intoxicated on an evening out with Mike and his brother and ended up sleeping with his brother in Mike's kitchen while he was passed out from the alcohol.

She then had a sexual encounter with him on the train, as well as at his apartment, before she came to her senses and called it quits. Unfortunately, Mike found out after all, and everything went very badly for Fiona after that point.
4. Karen Jackson has gone through a lot with her parents, with her mother's agoraphobia and her father's judgmental hyper-piousness. After her father humiliated her at the purity ball she set out to hurt him back in the worst ways imaginable. What action did Karen take that causes her father to self-destruct?

Answer: She widely distributes an online sex tape of her and Frank Gallagher

Karen seemed to be on a better path at the start of season 2, with her participation in Sex Addicts Anonymous and her relationship with Jody, but she soon devolved back into her old self after discovering she was pregnant. She then made the rash decisions of marrying Jody before deciding she didn't want Jody or her baby.
5. Who struck Karen Jackson with a car, rendering her comatose and permanently destroying her chance at a normal life?

Answer: Mandy Milkovich

Karen disappeared for months after giving up her baby and when she reappeared, Lip was dating Mandy Milkovich. Mandy was more than a little protective of Lip, knowing that their relationship was the one good thing in her life, but she went to extreme measures to keep Karen away from Lip, forever.
6. After breaking up with her girlfriend, Roberta, an non medicated Monica sweeps back into the Gallagher household and fully devolves into manic psychosis. In an attempt to uplift her spirits, the family encourages her to join them for a wonderfully normal Thanksgiving dinner. However, what does Monica do that ends up ruining the holiday for everyone?

Answer: Attempts suicide in the kitchen during dinner

Monica had been sleeping under the main stairs at the Gallagher house in a depressive slump for days before Thanksgiving. Once the kids found her hiding and sleeping there they forced her to join them for a family dinner. Unfortunately Monica disappeared shortly into the dinner began and attempted suicide in the kitchen; the aftermath was seen by all of her children and it was Steve that jumped in to try and stop the bleeding.
7. Frank Gallagher is hands-down one of the most deplorable and shameless creatures to walk (or crawl) the Earth. He offers nothing and expects everything, taking for granted all of those around him. Of all the disgusting things he did from seasons 1-6, and there have been many, which of the following is NOT one of them?

Answer: Burned down the Gallagher household to collect insurance on a policy he didn't realize was expired

There could be numerous quizzes all about the disgusting things that Frank has done on the show, but setting fire to the Gallagher household is not one of them. Beyond those listed above, Frank has also tried to seduce a dying woman just to get her pension, created a faulty brewery in Sheila's basement which ended up causing her house to explode (let alone when he slept with Sheila's underage daughter), and has even attempted to put a hit out on Fiona's fiancé, Shawn, only after he had broken into the house and urinated in Shawn's boots.
8. After Debbie has a disgusting encounter with a pervert on the train, the Gallagher boys join forces with the Milkovich family and other neighborhood hoodlums to terrorize a local sex offender they found online, in an effort to 'get justice' for Debbie. However, when they arrive they discover the offender is a woman and former teacher who had a sexual relationship with an adolescent student. Jealous after discovering Lip had slept with her, what did Mandy Milkovich do to eliminate this rival?

Answer: Had her brothers dig a grave in her yard to threaten her to leave immediately

Mandy again felt it necessary to protect Lip, or get retribution after Lip had a sexual encounter with the woman. Mandy used her brothers to help dig a grave within sight of the woman's front door and employed her own unique form of persuasion to get her to leave.

Her choice was between leaving the neighborhood forever or being buried in her yard. And leave she did, as you later see the grave being filled by another murder victim after the killer(s) paid Mandy's brothers to use the "perfectly good hole" that no one wanted to "go to waste."
9. In an attempt to get the house away from Frank, Fiona disclosed that Aunt Ginger had died. Unfortunately before they could claim the house for the family, their cousin Patrick swooped in with his own 'fake will' and took ownership of the Gallagher house and intended to evict the Gallagher family. What did one of the Gallagher kids do to get Patrick to back off and allow the Gallaghers to remain in the house?

Answer: Debbie accused cousin Patrick of molestation

It seemed like all hope was lost for the Gallaghers when Patrick swooped in with his own fake will and took control over their house. Carl went so far as to poison Patrick with rat poison, and this prompted Patrick to file a police report. Upon being questioned about the poisoning, Debbie chose to execute an impromptu lie about Patrick molesting her, which the police bought, and which the Gallaghers were able to use for leverage in getting their house back.
10. Sheila killed Frank's mother, Margaret 'Grammy' Gallagher, by smothering her with a pillow.

Answer: True

Grammy Gallagher was a highly unpleasant person, having been known as a reckless meth manufacturer with a cantankerous attitude and a history of heinous behavior. While she and Sheila initially got off on a very wrong foot, they both came around to appreciate each other and when Sheila realized that Grammy wanted to take her own life, Sheila agreed to help.

While their original efforts failed miserably, Sheila eventually sat on a pillow on Grammy's face, yelling "Go into the light," until she was no longer living. Surprisingly, Sheila then sought to turn her home into a hospice...
