"Firefly"- "Our Mrs. Reynolds" Quiz

This might trick some of you first-time viewers, so I apologize. I can't remember where it is exactly that it is said that they were on Triumph, but that is the correct planet. Jiangyin is where the previous episode "Safe" took place and Beaumonde is where they were headed after their job on Triumph.

While Jayne may be a coarse fella, his lighter side is somewhat revealed when the elder of Triumph shows and gives him the rainstick. He immediately pronounces it as a "friend" and gives the elder a big hug, promising to treasure it.

On the night of celebration, a young Triumph woman approaches Mal and performs the ceremony with him, although Mal doesn't realize it. This is explained by Book with the help of Simon's encyclopedia, and later the crew realizes she cunningly planned the ceremony to attempt to steal the ship and murder the crew.

Saffron appears shy but determined to fulfill the role of a good wife when we first meet her, but we later find out that shy certainly does not fit a description of the deceitful witch. Brigid and Yolanda are further aliases of Saffron's and Nandi is from a different episode that was actually never aired.

Mal: "She wanted to make me dinner. At least she's not crying."
Wash: "I might. Did she really make fresh bao? Quaint!"

This scene, in my opinion, is pretty darn funny.

Book: "If you take sexual advantage of her, you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater."

Zoe has an inherent distrust with certain people, and Miss Saffron is added to her list when she grabs a cider glass from Wash. Mal is the one impressed with her cooking and Wash is under the impression that she has led a closed-up life.

When Mal retires to bed, he finds a nude Saffron in his bed. While he tries to keep his distance from her, he ends up kissing her and thus falling victim to the narcotic compound on her lips.

After knocking out Wash and messing with the navigation systems, she tries to fly out on the other shuttle. But Inara catches her and Saffron attempts to seduce her. But Inara is two steps ahead of her, and she gets to Mal while Saffron makes her escape. Upon discovering Mal alive, she kisses him on the mouth and is also caught by the drug.

The nickname, "the good night kiss", is only brought up a few times, but it's a good way to describe it.

Simon: "You know, we used to get a lot of guys brought in on the night shift at the ER. Usually robbed, very groggy. They called it the good night kiss."
Zoe: "So you two were kissing?"
Book: "Well, isn't that...special."

Answer: Saffron tried to seduce her

Inara: "She's well schooled."
Simon: "You mean the sedative? The good night kiss?"
Inara: "Well, I only hit my head but Mal went through that but no, I mean seduction, body language, signals...she's had training. As in Companion, as in Academy."
Book: "Our little Saffron's quite a wonder. I'm beginning to think she married beneath herself."
Mal: "How do you know? About the training?"
Inara: "She tried to seduce me too."

Answer: False

Kaylee tries her best to be quick enough, but she cannot restore the system in time. Thankfully, Mal comes up with a "Plan B" and has Jayne fire his best gun at the net to short it out.

Saffron: "How did you find me?"
Mal: "Only a few places that shuttle would make it to from where you left. Happy to find it intact."

Just as Mal asks her, she hesitates. He then knocks her out.

While Mal is not an idiot, he's not entirely aware of Inara's feelings for him. He merely assumes that Saffron kissed Inara. And while Inara is partly thankful that he didn't know the truth, she still seems kind of irritated with him.
