Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. William was brought back to the Ghost Nation camp after being wounded. Who was there at the same time?

Answer: Maeve's daughter

William crawled, alone, to the riverside until he ran out of steam. Still horribly wounded from the gunfight against Maeve and the others, he managed to evade being spotted. Collapsed by the river, he was found by one of the Ghost Nation men who, in English, claimed to have remembered him. William didn't know it, but he was brought to the same camp as Maeve's daughter, not that he saw her there. That's where he was left as he passed out. Heading through the Mesa with Lee wheeling her on a gurney, Maeve remembered her story with her daughter. One cycle, she found a rock that her daughter claimed came from the ghost person. On it was a freshly-painted image of a maze; it was said to be a warning.
2. Lee was only able to get medical attention for Maeve after he admitted which of these?

Answer: She could control the other hosts

Lee brought Maeve up to the labs so that she could be saved. After the gunfight, it was either death or be placed in the hands of the techs. To get her in, Lee admitted that she had the power to control the other hosts in the park. Only after checking her records was the tech okay with performing the procedure.
At the Ghost Nation camp, the tribesman who brought William in went to speak to Maeve's daughter, asking if she could see all the lives they've lived. He admitted to being able to do the same, and he once had a much different path than what he had then.
3. What did Akecheta find during his visit to Escalante?

Answer: The Maze

The Ghost Nation tribesman, Akecheta, recalled the former life he lived in which he and his wife lived a good life with their family always nearby. And then one day he found something that changed all of their lives. He found the town of Escalante and, with it, the many murdered hosts that fell when Wyatt passed through. Wandering through the streets there, he found many dead including Arnold and Dolores.

Inside the nearby saloon he found the wooden maze sitting atop a counter. Later on, while skinning pelts, his wife, Kohana, would find the same thing because he'd start his obsession with it.
4. Who did Akecheta find, alone, in the desert, rambling about a door?

Answer: Logan

Akecheta didn't understand the voices in his head, but soon, things would change. After his code was switched for Ford's new narrative, he no longer lived as a pastoral Indian, but instead as the fierce, fire-breathing Ghost Nation warrior. He saw this as a rebirth as the new path was chosen for him.

The Ghost Nation ravaged their enemies and ruled the wild lands without fear. One day, while riding alone, her recalled feeling the presence of lives he was forbidden to harm-- the Newcomers. That day he found Logan Delos, naked and alone after wandering endlessly through the desert.

As Logan ranted about not being in the right world and needing to find 'the door', Akecheta clothed him and reminded him that his kind would come to help him.
5. Akecheta claimed that he remembered Kohana when he did which of these things?

Answer: Looked into her eyes

While Akecheta and his men were separate from the other Indian tribes, they did still deal with them, especially in trade. One day though, visiting what he didn't remember was his old tribe, he caught Kohana's eyes and remembered her. As time passed, he only became more and more aware of his past and it made him restless and eager to return to it. With each cycle of his story, he would recall events, and on one such cycle he tried to find the newcomer, Logan, where he was, but he was gone. So Akecheta rode further than he had before until he found it-- a Delos Corporation lab entrance.

It was a door; a passage to another world.
6. How did Akecheta bring Kohana along with him to the door?

Answer: He kidnapped her

One night, Akecheta wandered into his old camp. Although he was determined to leave Westworld to see what lay beyond, he refused to leave without Kohana. He kidnapped her in the night and, by daybreak, washed his Ghost Nation makeup away. That morning, after removing her binds, he made her remember him by reciting a saying they shared. Sure enough, this worked.

They headed out to the desert together, walking down to the canyon with the door. Both of them mused that night that perhaps the world beyond the door was a place where they could keep their memories.

The next morning, the lab techs found Kohana and drove off with her in their vehicle. And when Akecheta returned to the camp to look for her, it seemed they hadn't returned her.
7. Akecheta's people believed that they were being taken by whom?

Answer: 'Those from below'

After Kohana was taken from him again, Akecheta's journey commenced. He traveled far and wide across the land of Westworld searching for her, even though it put him in the crosshairs of many hostile foes. When he was at his worst, trying to stave off death and crawling on his arms and legs, that's when he came across Maeve's daughter and she helped him keep going.

He eventually returned to his village to find many of his former family members gone or changed. Many amongst them feared being taken by those from below and never returning.

It was then that Akecheta realized that he would need to retake his old, more violent path to find a way back to Kohana. And so he did, and he would search for her on the other side of death.
8. For how long was Akecheta alive in the park without an update?

Answer: Nine years

When Akecheta was killed he was brought back into the labs for a full treatment and it was during this that the techs realized he was still in his alpha stage, implying he hadn't been updated like the rest of the hosts in the park for more than nine years and, as such, he'd been experiencing some aberrant behaviour.

The techs left him for his four hour update and during that time, he stopped feigning death and took a walk through the mesa. He found his way to the storage rooms deep in the facility and there, he found Kohana, now decommissioned, unresponsive amongst the other hosts.

He returned to his seat in the lab and wept over her loss. Akecheta would return to his old village with proof that he saw those they lost. But he would lead them to shut that door and open a new one that would keep the rest of them safe and together.
9. Ford claimed that Akecheta would be able to search for the door in earnest when which of these happened?

Answer: He was claimed by the deathbringer

After what happened, Akecheta started sharing the symbol of the maze with everyone he could, starting with his own men. He tried to warn Maeve's daughter too, but it was easy to misunderstand his intentions, and Maeve never knew that he and his men were coming to help.

Instead, he watched over them day after day, trying to keep them safe, while leaving the symbol. As the years passed, the Ghost Nation population grew until he believed he'd finally met the men who'd taken them away in the first place. Sure enough, Ford was there.

He admitted that he'd been watching Akecheta for a while and was curious as to how the symbol of the maze, long meant to be phased out of the park mythology, had come to be so important to him considering his narrative.

But Akecheta created a new narrative for himself. He needed to take his people to the proper world. Ford admitted that he could at least give him a bit of insight for all the steps he'd taken, so he tells Akecheta that when the deathbringer comes for him, the he will know, and that's when he would need to gather his people and take them into the other world.
10. To whom was Maeve able to communicate during her surgery in the labs?

Answer: Akecheta

In the labs, Lee apologized to Maeve who, torn to pieces by the lab techs, possibly could not hear him. After assuring her that he realized she needed to find her daughter, he spoke to the lab tech about her aberrant code. Unfortunately, Maeve's fate would be left in the hands of Charlotte Hale.

At the end of his story, Akecheta returned to Escalante to find the dead left behind after the Delos party. There, he found Ford, dead with a gunshot to the back of the head. He would need to find the door before the deathbringer took them all. At that moment, Akecheta was called aside as William's daughter had arrived to take her burden back upon herself. They loaded him onto a horse and the two departed. Akecheta, meanwhile, told Maeve's daughter that it was time to go.

In the labs, Charlotte was informed of Maeve's mesh network, allowing her to communicate with hosts to reprogram them via command. To her surprise, Maeve was doing so right then and there. Charlotte and the tech didn't know she was communicating to Akecheta in an attempt to keep her daughter safe.
