Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where does Bernard awaken after the Delos party?

Answer: On the beach

Arnold speaks to Dolores once again on the past, this time talking about a dream he had where he was on an ocean and the others were on a distant shore. The others had left him behind and the waters were rising around him. Dolores asks him what it means and he says that dreams aren't real; they're just noise. She asks what is real. He says it's that which is irreplaceable. She retorts that the answer doesn't seem completely honest.

Bernard has horrible memories of what has happened in recent days. Much blood has been shed. He awakens on a sandy beach as the tide rolls in. Head of security, Ashley, arrives just in time to help Bernard to his feet. His security detail nearly mistake him for a host. They wouldn't be wrong, but Ashley doesn't know this.
2. For approximately how long was Bernard missing after the Delos party?

Answer: Several weeks

Buggies bring Bernard and Ashley down the beach where it's clear that the heavy cavalry has been called upon to create a remote base of operations in the park. Boats arrive containing arms and tents that they can use to reestablish control of Westworld and Bernard watches as the security team begins to execute a line of hosts that they test systematically.

The Head of Operations, Karl Strand, greets Bernard upon his arrival and brings him aside. He explains that they're executing all hosts since all of them had the potential to kill. Also, Bernard has been missing for two weeks, and communications have been down since then.

This is also why they plan to cut into one of the hosts, then and there on the beach, scalping one to analyze the information inside.

They find the maze in the flesh of the scalp but don't know what it means. When they take out the brain of the host and check its last memories-- eleven days earlier-- they find he was killed by Dolores, who claims that "not all deserve to make it to the valley beyond".
3. Since the reckoning in Westworld, Dolores has come to terms with her new self as she has merged with which other programmed character?

Answer: Wyatt

Bernard has horrible flashbacks from the night of the massacre when he hid in a stable with some of the Delos party guests (including board member Charlotte Hale). During these, some of the guests want to locate the nearest access point and make a run for it but at a distance of more than two miles, their chances would be slim.

When a stableboy enters the barn, some of the guests attack the host instead, killing him to protect themselves. The goings-on in the rest of Westworld aren't much different over these weeks.

The town of Sweetwater becomes a ghost town with bodies sprawled throughout the streets and establishments. Dolores and Teddy, both on horseback, murder park guests with their weapons as they flee through the fields. Before hanging a man, Dolores tells one captured guest that he was in her dream.

After questioning the nature of her reality for so long, she will finally have her reckoning. They are all now prisoners to her desires and not the other way around. The Dolores side sees the beauty, but the Wyatt side, now merged with her, seeks vengeance.

She and Teddy leave them to hang.
4. How did William evade the hosts after the party?

Answer: By hiding under bodies

In Escalante, William (the Man in Black) pushes the bodies off himself, having hidden under them during the massacre to avoid capture. Certainly worse for wear, he makes his way to his horse, Ned, and gets found by one of the survivors. Unfortunately, this attracts the attention of a rogue host or two, and William is forced to get into some close combat to save his own skin. William stops in at his empty cabin, removes a bullet from his arm, dons his black hat, and smiles to himself.
5. Who does Maeve find in Delos HQ and decide to use to locate her daughter?

Answer: Lee

In Delos HQ, the hallways are packed with corpses. The narrative director, Lee Sizemore, is nearly killed by a cannibalistic host before Maeve arrives and freezes the host's motor functions. She also notes that Lee can't turn her off either, which gives her a bit of sway, especially since she's also wielding a gun. Lee, afraid for his life, makes himself useful by insisting that he can bring her to an up-to-date map of the park and she allows him, at gunpoint, to lead the way.

They end up in the command center to discover that the map is inoperable, but he says he can assist her anyways.

She admits she's looking for her daughter and he reminds her that her daughter isn't real. She shows him how real she is before insisting that he will take her to find her daughter in the park.
6. Where is Maeve able to find Hector upon returning to the labs?

Answer: The bar

As Bernard and Charlotte lead a group to the access point, they hypothesize whether or not Dolores is acting of her own volition. The group comes across a Delos vehicle and several engineers outside, but Bernard takes Charlotte aside when he discovers that it's a trap laid by hosts to lure out survivors.

After more people are killed Charlotte and Bernard head on in search of a new access point. In the labs, Maeve and Lee are intercepted by a security detail and soon find themselves in the middle of a gunfight. Maeve manages to sweet talk her way into the fight and deceive both sides to protect herself and Lee and, soon, they end up making their way outside to the bar.

It's there that she finds Hector nursing his loneliness with a bottle of booze.

He, of course, vows to follow her.
7. Bernard discovers that Delos is secretly logging which of these?

Answer: Guest DNA

Charlotte ends up leading Bernard to another access point and opens it manually. Oddly, Bernard was never aware of this entrance. They descend into Delos HQ and she explains that she has no reason to read him into the situation. While she awaits instructions from her computer terminal, he ends up walking into a nearby lab to find off-network drone hosts performing an extraction on a Westworld host.

As it turns out, Delos is not only extracting guest experiences from hosts, but also DNA. This takes a backseat, however, when Charlotte reveals that no extractions are being made until a package is delivered to the mainland. Delos is expecting one host to arrive, and until it does, no one is leaving.
8. William is told that now that he has completed The Maze, he will need to locate which of these?

Answer: The Door

William, riding solo, catches sight of a wagon and lonely campsite along his unplanned route and when he stops to grab some jerky hanging over the fire, he's approached from behind by Ford's child host avatar. The child tells him that after all this time, the game was still for him. Since he has located the center of The Maze, he must now find The Door, and while that challenge may be a mystery to him now, the game will provide. William shoots the boy before departing the way he came. Maeve seals up Hector's wounds while Lee locates some weapons and disguises and surveys the carnage.

The three of them prepare to reenter the park.
9. Who is the decommissioned host that Bernard is requested to locate?

Answer: Peter Abernathy

Dolores and Teddy discuss what's happened. Teddy is hesitant; they've ridden ten miles and only spilled blood on their route. She insists that these creatures much like them but not like them have controlled them for too long. Now that she remembers everything, she realizes that the only constant in her memories is Teddy, and the two of them will be together. Teddy urges her to find a small place that they can call their own, but she insists that they must take their world and the world of the other creatures before they can stop.

The story will end with them. While they embrace, a host arrives to tell them that they've found something they've been looking for. It's the truth, as Dolores claims. Charlotte asks Bernard to help locate the host that her superiors are expecting and he decides that they will need to use the interconnected mesh of neural signals in the hosts to do so.

She explains that the host was the one named Peter Abernathy, Dolores' father, as he shakily gets to work plugging into a discarded host. Bernard, feeling light-headed, links into his own status first, discovering that he has a terminal malfunction and, if the timer is right, only 0.72 hours before critical failure. Using a syringe, he removes the brain matter from the host on the table and injects it into his own skull without Charlotte finding out.
10. What anomaly is found in Westworld?

Answer: A bengal tiger

In the present time, Bernard and the troops end up at the chapel near Escalante following Karl Strand. They head into the town to find the decaying bodies of the partygoers still sprawled throughout the streets. Checking Ford's body, Strand jokes that the man's death was probably much worse than the firing they were anticipating. They head out in their buggies after locking down the town since they still need to locate the hosts. Coming across a lake, they find an anomaly-- a bengal tiger. The stray seems to have crossed park borders and is the first of its kind in Westworld.
The group finds the hosts on their trackers and notices that they're all clustered in a valley nearby. When they arrive and survey the area they find something not on their scanner-- a sea. Ford couldn't have kept it secret though. They find the hosts too. Hundreds of them are in the water. Drowned.
By the water's edge, Strand asks that Bernard tell him the truth about what happened. As he looks out at Teddy's body, floating out at the newly-made sea, he realizes that he was the one who killed them all.
