Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At one point, Bernard was controllable by which host?

Answer: Dolores

In one of their talks together, Arnold and Dolores talked about the path she could take if she were to continue transforming. Arnold would have a choice to make down the line. If Dolores were to outgrow Westworld, it could be up to him. Dolores froze Bernard's motor functions during their revision of this talk and insisted that it was a test for him. This was never exactly what Arnold said and this was a test for fidelity.

Out in the park, Teddy walked down the streets of Sweetwater to find Dolores playing the saloon's player piano. She was surprised and amazed to see him, but that didn't matter. Teddy instead insisted that they head out as soon as possible. No longer weak, he was ready to depart for the mesa. Dolores headed out to the train and asked the hostages about the whereabouts of her father, but when answers weren't given, Teddy shot first, opting to ask questions later.
2. How does Charlotte incapacitate Peter Abernathy?

Answer: By nailing him to a chair

Back in the mesa, Ashley returned to find Charlotte already there. They brought Peter Abernathy with them to contact Delos via an emergency comms unit and awaited the word. There would be nothing to do but wait since they had the control unit in their possession. In the meantime, technicians got to work in the labs. All Charlotte needed was a way to prevent Peter from moving permanently. To do this, they simply nailed him to a seat.

In Shogun World, Maeve breaks free of her stupor having withstood the oncoming shogun army. She watches from a distance as Akane mourns her daughter, Sakura, and removes the heart from her body.
3. Who wins the duel in Shogun World?

Answer: Mushashi

Maeve led her contingent back to the Shogun World version of Sweetwater, instructing the assassins therein to kill themselves with their own swords. She returned for the Mushashi, Hector, and Armistice, preparing to retrieve them and allow the assassins to live, but before she could use her powers to kill General Tanaka, the ronin encouraged a duel. Whoever won would get to claim Akane. What resulted was a swordfight uninfluenced by Maeve's 'witch powers'.

After Mushashi claimed Tanaka's second weapon, he cut off his hand, winning the duel as the man tried to commit seppuku.
4. William believed that Grace could have been replicated as a host to throw him off his game.

Answer: True

William and his men came across an overturned wagon as they travelled through the desert. Grace approached William, and asked if he was ready to acknowledge that she had come to retrieve him, but he refused to believe that she could be real, instead claiming that Ford probably made her into a host as part of his game.

She let him believe what he wanted, but when she approached the wagon she noted that the arrows on the overturned wagon weren't those of Ghost Nation, implying that it was a trap.

She successfully saved his men.
5. Bernard and Ellie discovered that something in the coding behind the systems operating the mesa was being run on its own, but from where?

Answer: The cradle

Bernard and Ellie, meanwhile, headed down the railroad tracks towards the mesa, gaining entry and heading in through the main lobby of the building to find a computer terminal. There, Ellie found out that QA had attempted many times to override the system and find out what was going on but they were blocked every time by the main controls in the cradle.

There was something in the code-- the cradle itself-- reacting to all of the hacks, almost like the system was fighting back. Bernard realized that she wouldn't be able to access the system remotely; they would have to go there in person.
6. As Maeve's group made it to Snow Lake, who opted to remain behind in Shogun World?

Answer: Akane

Heading through the bamboo forests of Shogun World, Maeve's group inevitably made their way to Snow Lake, Sakura's former home, to find their way to the lab access point. Felix and Sylvester, locating a body chute at a nearby shrine, slid in while Akane made her offering, allowing Sakura to be at her final rest as she placed her heart in a bowl there.

As Lee signalled for a departure, Maeve invited the others to come along, back to Westworld, so that they could find her daughter. Mushashi and Akane, however, refused to join them, instead opting to remain and mourn in their own land-- a land they would rather defend.

They do, however, allow Hanaryo, their archer, to go in their stead, travelling alongside her counterpart, Armistice.
7. What was always Grace's favourite park as a child?

Answer: The Raj

At night, as Grace sat at the fire, her father offered up a drink and he asked her what she was really there for. As it turned out, Charlotte invited her to the gala, but she didn't want to go at all. She did want to go back to The Raj though since it was always her favourite as a child.

When all hell broke loose, she ended up in Westworld. She came because she couldn't let her father take suicide by robot as an option and she couldn't say so without apologizing for some of her wrongdoings in the past.

She couldn't let him go down in a blaze of glory without asking him to come home instead. William told her they would head to the beach at sun-up. When Grace woke up, he was already gone. And so was his gang.
8. Who volunteered to use the host interface machine to enter the park systems and search within the code?

Answer: Bernard

Searching through the mesa, Bernard and Ellie came across the cradle, the structure's server bay, in an attempt to hunt down the rogue code looking to kill them. Bernard, though, realized that he brought something or someone there at some point. To find the issue, Bernard volunteered himself to go into the cradle, even if this meant having his core removed to be sent inside for an hour. And so his core was extracted from his head and, within moments, he found himself arriving on the train into Sweetwater, a digital version at least, or possibly a memory.

Ashley waited atop the mesa for a group of QA units to parachute in. One of them, Coughlin, shook his hand as he introduced himself. Charlotte, who called them, would be waiting in the behavioural labs. They would be taking over from there. Inside the headquarters, Coughlin would be informed that he wouldn't be able to access too much. When they restored the map, however, they would find something horrible coming their way.
9. The closest access point to Maeve's homestead in Westworld was under which of these?

Answer: A grave

Out in Westworld, Maeve's group reemerged, this time from a lab access point hidden under a grave. Lee, as it seemed, navigated them to the hills that Maeve once called home. She thanked him sincerely for that. When Hector asked for directions, Maeve said that she would need to go it alone for this one. They could wait for her there at the gravesite. She inevitably came across the homestead she'd searched for and found a little girl sitting there on the porch. To her surprise, however, her mother was just returning from doing the laundry. And to a larger shock, the Ghost Nation army was just arriving.

William, with his group, ended up with their guards down once again and came across another ambush. The Ghost Nation would be after them too.
10. What was inside the train as it returned to the mesa?

Answer: Explosives

While Maeve and her daughter ran, Hector, Armistice, and Hanaryo went in, guns blazing, to fight off the Ghost Nation men, even as Akecheta, their leader, warned Maeve that their paths were the same and it would be safe with them. Lee, meanwhile, used the comms device he'd found in Shogun World to call for help when the coast was clear. While Sylvester wasn't opposed to this, Felix instead went to help the others.

Dolores and her group, meanwhile, waited as the train headed down the tracks to the mesa. She told Teddy that her father told her to run from this place. As they neared it, there was nothing more to do but turn the train loose. Teddy left his revolver with the one tech hostage onboard and insisted it was his last mercy. As they decoupled the cars, the train, full of explosives, barrelled on towards the mesa.

The train exploded while Bernard was still in the host interface machine. Inside the cradle, searching through another version of Sweetwater, he walked through the streets to find the saloon full. At the piano, he found none other than Robert Ford waiting for him.
