Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Emily brought William to a rally point and attempted to retrieve help by doing which of these?

Answer: Setting off a flare

At an elite gathering, William discussed great literature and thoughts on other worlds with a colleague before Juliet, his wife, joined them. The part, as she reminded him, was all for him, though he couldn't take his mind off Westworld, especially since the event was being attended to by hosts. Waking up in the park, William saw his daughter, Emily, standing by and helping him, having retrieved him from the Ghost Nation camp.

She brought him to a rally point because he needed to go to a hospital, and she set off a flare ten minutes before he regained consciousness. Emily admitted that she regret feeling like she caused her mother's death, but it wouldn't be too late for her to help her father.
2. Who attempted to stand between Dolores and the Valley Beyond?

Answer: The Ghost Nation Men

After heading out from their assault on the mesa, Dolores and Teddy proceeded on horseback towards the Valley Beyond, but were stopped by a group of Ghost Nation men who, calling Dolores 'Deathbringer', said that their journey would end then and there. Dolores said that it was their only option before a fight ensued. Teddy shot first while Dolores looped around to flank their foes from behind, and as one of the Ghost Nation men lay dying, he insisted that there would be no place for Dolores on the other side. Only Teddy and Dolores survived the shoot-out, or so she thought.

When Teddy went to ensure that no one remained alive, he purposely let a surviving Ghost Nation member run off.
3. Charlotte reprogrammed which host, using them to infect the other hosts into killing one another?

Answer: Clementine

In the mesa, Bernard headed back down to the labs to watch Charlotte Hale from the shadows. After capturing Clementine during the raid, the technicians programmed her to contain a code that would spread with her proximity. When implemented, this would override existing code and cause the hosts to destroy each other. Ford, still in Bernard's mind, reminded him that Charlotte and her man would rather see the hosts destroyed than freed, and they would need to act to prevent this.

Although Bernard wished to return to Elsie, there was still one more thing to do before they headed out.
4. At a party celebrating William, Ford handed which of these over at the bar?

Answer: A data card

William asked Emily how she found him, and she said that she simply looked everywhere. He didn't believe her. Emily asked her father if he was still pursuing his search for immortality and he balked at how she made it sound. That said, she decided that she wanted in on his quest. William remembered the party he attended again. Emily, eager to leave, wanted to take her mother back, but William insisted he would and then he'd meet her for a nightcap.

Instead, he headed to the bar and found Ford there. William said that he still did not want Delos involved in any of Ford's stories, but Ford suggested that William's 'Valley Beyond' had become a bit of a problem. Before William departed, Ford slid a data card to him across the bar.
5. What, according to Bernard, could be used to replicate hosts?

Answer: The Forge

Bernard, still wandering the labyrinthine maze of labs in the mesa, found Maeve still on an operating table. Although Bernard couldn't enter the room, his access been denied, Ford was able to relay a message across their minds. After this, Bernard headed to the vehicle bay to find Elsie hiding and waiting.

She asked him to follow through on his promise and tell her the truth, and while Ford urged him not to trust her, what he told her wasn't exactly untrue-- in the cradle he found vast amounts of code tracking the humans entering the park, likely to replicate them as hosts using something known as 'The Forge', and it's where the hosts were headed. If they could get there first, they could leverage it to their advantage. Out in the park, William doubted that Emily would actually want in on the whole replication deal. Emily, however, claimed that all of the data was precious. For duplication, people would need not only the info he'd been obtaining, but even the deeper, inner thoughts of the people involved. William already had that covered though; there were scanners built into the hats donned by every park guest, mapping their brain imagery. Emily confided in her father then; she didn't want to bring her mother back, but she did want to know why she killed herself.
6. Juliet killed herself through which means?

Answer: Overdose

On the night of the party, William returned home with Juliet who, then fairly intoxicated, decided it was a good opportunity to insult her husband about his work with the park and the like. She asked him to remember what it was like when they first met, but she came to learn that he was simply the best at faking being a good guy.

When Emily came out to interrupt, Juliet continued to ream out William for gaslighting the family, but Emily suggested that perhaps it was a good time to bring her mother back for rehabilitation. William tucked Juliet into bed before hiding Ford's data card in one of the books on a nearby table.

When William returned to Emily downstairs, he discovered that Emily had already submitted the rehab request and she would be on an involuntary hold.

Their discussion was distraction enough. It would be too late for William to find Juliet in the bathtub having overdosed on pills.
7. Was the Emily with William in the park his real daughter?

Answer: Yes

After following through on this memory, William came to the conclusion that his daughter's return was likely just another way for Ford to steer him off-course. When William didn't waver, Emily said that when they finally got out of the park, she planned to expose his activities and have him locked up, just like what they were going to do to Juliet.

It would be payback after what she discovered on the data card profile that Juliet left for her to find. When the troops from the mesa finally arrived in response to Emily's flare, they tested both Emily and William to ensure they were human. William's test came up clear, but before Emily's could be completed, William fought back, nabbing a gun off one of the guards and shooting them all down, blaming Ford for putting more obstacles in his path. Before Emily could prove to her father that she was real, he shot her as well, killing her and moving to her body to finish her off.

When he did, however, he saw what she'd moved to retrieve-- the data card that only she could have had in her possession.
8. According to Ford, who was his favourite of the hosts he created?

Answer: Maeve

In the mesa, Maeve recalled Ford's words as she faded. He suggested that he had a different story planned for her, mainly a tale of escape because he didn't want her to suffer there. He admitted that of all of his hosts, Maeve may have been his favourite.

She was likely the closest he ever had to a child if he made one. There would be more of her story left to tell; she could not let them end it for her. Bernard and Elsie drove through the park, stopping on Elsie's request to nab ammunition from downed troops.

While Elsie walked off, Ford suggested once again that Elsie would betray her and he could end her without pain. There would be an origin of a species to consider and they needed to open the door. Then and there, in an effort to remove Ford from his mind, Bernard tapped into his code and deleted him. To keep Elsie safe, he left her there and went off on his own.
9. Juliet was able to hide valuable information about William, gifting it to Emily in which of these?

Answer: A music box

Painfully and riding onward alone, William continued towards the Valley Beyond, eventually stopping in the middle of a field and contemplating suicide by holding his loaded revolver to his head. He remembered then, when he tucked Juliet into bed on the night she killed herself, that he told her something true. No one else, he said, could see the thing inside of him-- the darkness-- and he was letting it into the world.

He tried to be kind and generous in the real world to counter it, even if only to protect Juliet and Emily, but she saw through it, and everything she felt was true.

He admitted that he didn't belong to her or the real world; he belonged in another world and always had. As William left the bedroom, Juliet found the data card in the book and loaded it up to find all of the files attained about his activities in the park.

She left the card for Juliet in a music box she'd bought for an earlier birthday and then she killed herself. Instead of firing the gun, William dropped it, then dropped to his knees and pulled out a knife. Digging into his arm, he searched for what he figured he might find.
10. Which of these, according to Teddy, was one of the first things he saw upon awakening for the first time?

Answer: Dolores

Dolores and Teddy arrived at the ruins of an old, solitary ranch house on the way to the Valley Beyond. Dolores insisted that they needed to continue on, but Teddy wanted to take in the natural splendour, even if there was no natural splendour in the world around them, or in themselves. Even then, according to Dolores, they would be the first of their kind to make a real choice if they left it behind. Teddy and Dolores contemplated their relationship and Teddy admitted that he remembered everything, finally.

He remembered being brought online for the first time and, there, seeing Dolores in his waking dream and always wanting to be with her. But that said, she changed him and made him into a monster; what was the use, he claimed, if they all became as bad as the people that made them? Teddy vowed to protect her until the day he died, so he made his own choice then and there.

He would die by his own hand. With a shot, he left Dolores alone to act out her plan.
