In the second storyline of the episode, Magnum used T.C. and Rick to help him get money from an employee that didn't pay him for a job he performed. Tom Selleck's former wife played Ms. Roebuck, the woman that Magnum and his friends dealt with when they tried to get the money from her employer.

"Faith and Begorrah" was the last episode of season three. The episode starred another of Higgins' half-siblings, Irish Catholic priest Patrick McGuiness, who came to town to find an artifact stolen from his church in Ireland.

"Magnum, P.I." creator Donald Bellisario had a short role as the motel clerk where Patrick McGuiness stayed while in Hawaii.

This episode ended with the wife of Magnum's client killed and Rick witnessing the murder through binoculars. When the series returned for the fourth season, the murder was never discussed.

Rick, T.C., and Magnum met Earl during one of his matches and Magnum took the case of finding his missing son. Magnum found Earl's son Phil, but Phil denied knowing Earl. Magnum did some investigating and found out that the son knew Earl was running from the mob and didn't want to be used as a mob weapon against his father.

Ernest Borgnine later went on to play in "Airwolf", a production of Donald Bellisario.

Magnum married Marsha Mackenzie in a fake ceremony so he could investigate theft inside a family business. The fake marriage was not a fake marriage made in heaven. During the story, Magnum realized that Sam Hunter was the pilot that saved him and his crew from being killed by the Viet Cong.

Donald Bellisario took this episode as a pilot episode for a new series starring actor William Lucking. The pilot was not picked up and Donald Bellisario later turned the series into a hit show called "Airwolf".
