James Garner was Bret Maverick. Roger Smith starred in "77 Sunset Strip". Clint Walker played another TV western hero, "Cheyenne". Clint made a name for himself playing Rowdy Yates in the long running western series "Rawhide" James Garner reprised his character in the 1981-82 series "Bret Maverick".

Richard Long was a contract player for Universal in the late 1940's through the early 1950's. He featured as Tom Kettle in the "Ma and Pa Kettle" film series of the 1950's. As a contract player with Warner Brothers, he appeared in many of their TV series.

He starred as Rex Randolph in the 1959 detective series, "Bourbon Street Beat". In 1965, he gained the role of Jarrod Barkley in "The Big Valley".

Gerald Mohr, a fine character actor, played Holiday in the first season. Peter Breck, later to be famous as Nick Barkley in "The Big Valley", played Doc Holiday in the final season. Rex and Rhodes Reason, Edd Byrnes, Mike Connors, Doug McClure and John Russell all guest starred on "Maverick".

John Dehner was a staple of many Warner Brothers TV shows of the 1950's and 1960's, often playing a villain. This busy actor guest starred on more than 120 different TV shows, including 12 appearances on "Gunsmoke" playing a different character in each appearance.
