Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the 2004 Logie Awards, (for which the eligible period to be voted on was the 2003 seasons of nominated shows - season 3 for "McLeod's Daughters") which of these awards was not won by "McLeod's Daughters" or one of its stars?

Answer: Bridie Carter - Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Actress

Though she didn't win, Bridie was nominated for the prestigious award, which, like all awards in the Most Outstanding category, are decided by industry experts. "McLeod's Daughters" was also nominated for Most Outstanding Drama Series, and Lisa Chappell was also nominated for the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality, and in 2002 she won Most Popular New Female Talent.
2. At the 2004 Logie Awards, which award did Aaron Jeffery win?

Answer: Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor

Myles Pollard was also nominated for this award.
3. How did Claire die?

Answer: Car accident

Sadly, this was on the day that Alex was going to ask her to marry him.
4. What is the name of Claire's daughter?

Answer: Charlotte

Charlotte was born in season 3. Her father was Peter Johnson, who Claire was with in season 2 until she found out he was already married. She forgave him when he told her they were separated, but then she found out about his two daughters by his wife and decided she couldn't stay with him. Later she had a one-night stand with him in the last few episodes in season 2 and promptly finally ended it, later discovering that she was pregnant. Shortly after, she was issued with repossesion papers from Australian Bloodlines, who Peter was an agent for, because she had allegedly breached her contract when she resigned - Peter hadn't handed in her resignation letter.

He offered to fix everything with Australian Bloodlines if she married him, so she agreed (but it didn't end up happening, thankfully). Tess then broke into his hotel room to look for the letter.

After that, in the season 2 finale, Claire fell off her horse and fell unconcious in the Stockman's Challenge, and Tess had to tell the ambulance officers that her sister was pregnant. Alex claimed paternity, but in season 3, Peter of course found out that he was Charlotte's father.
5. What was Sally's original relationship to Nick?

Answer: She was his physiotherapist

They ended up having a love affair, much to the delight of Nick's mother, who didn't think Tess was good enough for her son.
6. Claire and Alex knew each other as children.

Answer: True

Alex and Claire grew up on neighbouring properties, competing in school carnivals and the like. The competitiveness carried over into adulthood, particularly when both of them went for the horse training contract with Australian Bloodlines. But after Claire resigned from Australian Bloodlines they formed the McLeod-Ryan horse training business and later admitted to each other that they were in love while in Melbourne.
7. Why did Alex hate Peter Johnson?

Answer: Because he lied to Claire

Another reason was that when Claire and Alex started McLeod-Ryan, Peter tried to sabotage their efforts by telling potential clients that Alex was responsible for a paralysed boy's condition - but that had happened a decade ago. After everyone found out that Peter had lied to Claire about his marriage, Alex came to feel quite strongly about the issue, not hiding his opinion that Peter was full of himself and a "knob," to put it lightly. Alex often had to be physically restrained around Peter.
8. At the Gungellan Show in the late 2nd season, Jodi and Alberto were selling homemade Italian sausages. How much did they originally charge per sausage?

Answer: $4.50

They were fundraising for a potential overseas trip. They eventually lowered the cost to $2.50 as they had trouble selling them.
9. Which of these locations is not nearby to any of the central farms in the show?

Answer: Melbourne

Though the characters have travelled to Melbourne a number of times, the farms Gungellan and Fisher are in South Australia. Wilgul is one of the farms.
10. What is the name of the woman Terry was dating after Meg in season 2?

Answer: Jane

This was because Meg's ex-husband, Kevin, made a surprise return. Meg and Jodi were thinking of moving to the Whitsundays with him, but he disappeared again.
