Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Geordi is onboard an alien ship assisting with repairs when one of the alien passengers shoots him with a hand-held weapon, which happens while the aliens are speaking to Commander Riker via the bridge's main viewscreen.

Answer: Samaritan Snare

After answering a distress call to assist the not-so-really-distressed Pakleds, Geordi transports over to the aliens' ship, where he realizes that there's nothing actually in need of repairs; further, he discovers that the Pakleds are not as dumb as they look, as they intentionally sabotaged their own ship in an attempt to persuade Riker to give them what they want.

In one scene, when Riker is confronting the Pakleds via the bridge viewscreen, one of the Pakleds stuns Geordi with a phaser while the interior of the Pakleds' ship is in clear sight, forcing anger and frustration to erupt from the Enterprise's first officer.
2. Riker is engulfed by a mysterious alien entity that leaves him completely covered in a thick black substance.

Answer: Skin Of Evil

In the memorable first-season episode where Yar met her untimely demise, the creature named Armus demonstrates that it is in complete control and can do whatever it wants to by toying with each individual member of the away team. In a classic scene, Armus uses his powers to invisibly drag Riker across the ground until the Enterprise's first officer is pulled down into the sticky black pool of tar from which the angry alien emerged.
3. Dr. Crusher is onboard the Enterprise when she confronts a Klingon about the death of an alien scientist, angering the Klingon and causing the doctor to get violently shoved against a wall in the science lab.

Answer: Suspicions

Suspecting foul play during her solo investigation into the death of the Ferengi scientist, Dr. Crusher confronts each individual member of the science team working on the metaphasic shield project, making time to speak with the Klingon woman maned Kurak alone in the science lab.

When Kurak tires of Dr. Crusher's questioning and insinuating that the test shuttle may have been sabotaged, she becomes angry, shoving the Enterprise's chief medical officer against a wall and onto the floor. Beverly quickly recovers and stands back up on her feet, pressing Kurak for the truth; unfortunately, Kurak refuses to offer the doctor any further details.
4. Chief O'Brien and Keiko get married inside Ten Forward in this episode.

Answer: Data's Day

Much of this episode featured our favorite resident android moving about the ship and observing the lives and daily activities of his fellow shipmates. The biggest event that occurs is the transporter room chief and the ship's botany specialist being joined in matrimony in a traditional Oriental wedding ceremony held in Ten Forward, with Data assuming the role as father of the bride.
5. Data angrily grabs an alien by the neck and throws it across the room while onboard another ship; he later reenacts the exact same scenario on the holodeck while Geordi is present.

Answer: Descent, Part 1

At the beginning of the episode, Data is with the rest of the away team onboard the alien ship when they encounter several Borg drones who are behaving like individuals. The phaser fight that ensues shortly afterwards culminates with Data engaged in a physical confrontation with one of the drones, uncharacteristically becoming angry as he grabs the drone by the neck and slowly chokes it to death. Later, while on the holodeck, Data is running a simulation of the exact same scenario, attempting to understand what fueled his rage in the first place. Geordi arrives to check in on Data's progress as his android friend runs the second test simulation; unfortunately, he is still no closer to getting to the root of the problem.
6. Guinan attends a stand-up comedy show being put on by Data on the holodeck.

Answer: The Outrageous Okona

In his continued attempt to understand humanity--specifically, the purpose of humor and how to be good at it-- Data runs a holodeck simulation that is a re-creation of a stand-up comedy club from Earth's 20th century. The wise bartender from Ten Forward is the lone attendee that is an actual Enterprise passenger while the remainder of the audience, including the stand-up comic himself, are all holodeck characters, whom Data reveals he programmed to laugh at everything he said and did while performing on the stage.
7. Wesley is in a corridor onboard the Enterprise tossing a ball around with two other people, but when he throws the ball to one of his playmates, the ball isn't caught and instead hits the person directly in the face.

Answer: The Offspring

One of the more hilarious moments from this episode occurred during a montage of scenes where Data is trying to instruct his newly-created android daughter on the basics of body motor functions. Data, Wesley and Lal are all in a corridor together, with Data and Wesley tossing a ball back and forth to each other.

But when Wesley throws the ball to Lal, the ball hits her smack in the face and bounces way. Lal then mechanically raises an arm in a failed and very-late attempt to catch it, proving that her android daddy still had a lot of work to do towards developing her reaction skills.
8. Counselor Troi is on the Enterprise bridge when she uses a single arm to hurl Worf through the air and onto the floor, causing Worf to break his hand.

Answer: Clues

The mysterious aliens called the Paxans directly take possession of Troi's mind and body towards the very end of the episode in order to communicate directly with Picard and the rest of the bridge crew. But when an alert Worf sensing hostility attempts to apprehend Troi, the ship's resident half-Betazoid uses a single arm to fling Worf through the air and onto the walkway near the Turbolift, breaking his hand (a fact we would find out earlier in the episode when Dr. Crusher is examining him in sickbay), presumably acquiring her increased strength from the aliens that are in possession of her.
9. The Enterprise is preparing to transport a group of aliens from a ship that is on the brink of exploding in space, but it is the ship's medical cargo that arrives in the transporter room first before the alien survivors arrive onboard the Enterprise themselves.

Answer: Symbiosis

At the very beginning of the episode, the 'medicine' that the plagued Onarans desperately wanted to salvage is the first thing to arrive in the Enterprise's transporter room, as the freighter ferrying the capsules is on the brink of exploding due to a fault in the freighter's engine system.

The two Brekkian and the two Onaran survivors then arrive on the ship shortly thereafter. Later on, it is revealed that the Brekkians had been devising a way to refine the medicine as a narcotic, then profiting greatly from their Onaran users having become addicted to it throughout the years of their standing trade agreement.
10. A Starfleet admiral is onboard the Enterprise, discussing an issue that ultimately leads to Picard having a direct confrontation with an alien species, in all of the following episodes...except this one.

Answer: Time's Arrow, Part 1

A rather tricky one to close out this quiz, considering that the Enterprise did revisit present-day Earth in "Time's Arrow, Part 1" when the severed, ancient head of Data is uncovered from the cavern in San Francisco. Despite having set foot on the planet where the Federation is headquartered, there were no admirals ever seen getting involved in the crew's mission to thwart the inter-dimensional aliens from annihilating the Humans in the past timeline.

In "The Best Of Both Worlds, Part 1", Admiral Hanson arrives with Commander Shelby to speak with Picard about the possibility that the Borg may have destroyed the Federation colony at the beginning of the episode. Ultimately, Picard is kidnapped by the Borg and forced to serve the Collective as Locutus, albeit temporarily.

At the beginning of "Redemption, Part 2", Picard is meeting with the two admirals in the Observation Lounge in regards to the Federation's tactical strategy against Sela and the Romulan fleet. Picard and his crew later will find themselves in the heat of battle while Worf continues to struggle with his dilemma of serving the Federation or the Klingon Empire.

Then at the very beginning of "Unification, Part 1", Picard is speaking with the female admiral in his Ready Room in regards to tracking down our beloved half-Human, half-Vulcan who formerly served under Captain Kirk onboard the original Enterprise. As the episode nears the cliffhanger point, Picard and Data are down on Romulus when they are confronted by a group of hand-held weapon-wielding guards, with Spock finally revealing himself to the captain and the android when he emerges from the shadows at the very end.
