Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which member of the Campbell family did NOT appear in season 6 of "Supernatural"?

Answer: Deanna

Sam and Dean spent time hunting with their grandfather Samuel and their cousins Gwen, Mark and Christian during several episodes, including "Exile on Main Street", "Two and a Half Men", and "Family Matters" (though Mark was only in the first two, since he was killed off in "Two and a Half Men").

Their grandmother Deanna never appeared during the season, having been killed before the brothers were born, and unlike Samuel, not getting resurrected during the season. Deanna's death was shown during "In the Beginning" during season 4.
2. Which of these were the names of two creatures from Purgatory that appeared during season 6?

Answer: Ellie and Eve

Ellie Visyak first appeared in "Like a Virgin". She was the professor from San Francisco University that gave Dean the sword to kill the dragons. In "Let it Bleed", it was revealed that she had come from Purgatory. Eve, or "the mother", first appeared when she was released from Purgatory by the dragons at the end of "Like a Virgin".
3. The Alpha Vampire appeared for the first time in season 6. In which episode did Sam and Dean first meet him?

Answer: "Family Matters"

The characters spoke about the Alpha Vampire in "Live Free or Twihard" but the Sam and Dean did not meet him until "Family Matters" when the Campbells captured him. Dean and Sam got the chance to speak to the Alpha for the brief time he was caged, and he told the brothers that Samuel was searching for Purgatory. They found out later in the episode that Samuel was working for Crowley.
4. In "The French Mistake", why did Virgil follow Sam and Dean into an alternate reality?

Answer: To get the key to the weapons of heaven

Balthazar gave Sam and Dean the key and then sent them into an alternate reality where they were the stars of a television show. Virgil followed them and stole the key. The key turned out to be a diversion, though, with Balthazar using the time that Virgil chased the brothers to retrieve the weapons for Castiel.
5. In "Exile on Main Street", why did Sam visit Dean for the first time in a year?

Answer: To save Dean from a djinn

After Sam was poisoned by a djinn, he went to see Dean, figuring Dean would be the next target. He arrived just in time to save his brother. Since he was soulless, he did not have the ability to miss his brother. There was no demon or shapeshifter in this episode, although Dean had hallucinations of Azazel while poisoned by the djinn and Sam did contact his brother again for help with a creature that turned out to be a shapeshifter in "Two and a Half Men".
6. Which ship was "unsunk" in "My Heart Will Go On"?

Answer: Titanic

Balthazar went back in time and stopped the Titanic from sinking. This caused Fate to step in and kill all the descendants of the people that were supposed to die on the ship. Balthazar did this so the new deaths would produce 50,000 new souls for Castiel's battle.

However, Fate threatened to kill the Winchester brothers unless Balthazar went back and allowed the ship to sink, so Castiel had him do so.
7. Which episode revealed to the viewers that Castiel and Crowley were working together?

Answer: "Mommy Dearest"

Eve told Sam and Dean that Crowley was still alive during "Mommy Dearest". The demon had supposedly been killed by Castiel in "Caged Heat", so the brothers began to question Castiel's loyalty. Then, at the end of the "Mommy Dearest" episode, the viewers witnessed a scene with Crowley and Castiel, confirming that the two were working together.

The Winchesters did not confirm their suspicions until "The Man Who Would Be King", when Castiel slipped and revealed he had been spying on them.
8. Which of these was NOT a way that a police officer was killed during "The Third Man"?

Answer: Burned

Aaron used the staff of Moses to get revenge on the cops that killed his brother and planted a gun on him. All three officers were killed. The first liquified to blood. The second was covered in boils. And, the third had locusts eat their way out of his head. Most episodes in season 6 had some connection or reference to the soul, and this was no exception.

Here, Balthazar had sold a part of the staff of Moses to the child in exchange for his soul.
9. In "And Then There Were None", the monster worm possessed several people. Which of these were all victims of the worm possession?

Answer: Dean, Samuel and Bobby

The worm first got into Dean, and he killed Gwen. It then got into Samuel, and Sam killed Samuel in self defense. Last, it got into Bobby, who killed Rufus. Dean and Sam then used electricity to kill the worm and save Bobby.
10. In "Frontierland", Dean introduced Sam to the sheriff and judge as "Walker, Texas Ranger", and introduced himself as a marshal named what?

Answer: Clint Eastwood

Sam told Bobby at the beginning of the episode that Dean was "obsessed with all that Wild West stuff." Dean insisted he just liked old movies. Sam then asserted that Dean could recite the dialogue to "every Clint Eastwood movie ever made, line for line." When Bobby asked if that included the monkey ones, Dean snapped back, "The name is Clyde."
11. Season 6 identified which real life American horror author as having opened Purgatory and let out a creature?

Answer: H.P. Lovecraft

In "Let There Be Blood", Bobby and the brothers discovered that Castiel had stolen a Campbell diary that mentioned meeting with H.P. Lovecraft. There was a funny exchange in which Sam and Bobby were surprised that Dean had not heard of the author, and Dean explained that while they were reading, he was having sex with women. Bobby pursued the Lovecraft lead and discovered that Lovecraft and a group of others had opened a door to Purgatory and released an inhabitant. Later, in "The Man Who Knew Too Much", amnesiac Sam spotted a real Lovecraft book, and had flashes of memory.
12. Sam and Dean had a brief moment in Russia, after Castiel saved them in "My Heart Will Go On". What is the other episode in season 6 that the brothers traveled outside of the United States?

Answer: "Weekend at Bobby's"

The brothers traveled to Scotland to find Crowley's bones so that they could force the demon to remove his claim from Bobby's soul. They were successful, and Crowley got his bones back in exchange for Bobby's soul.
13. In "Two and a Half Men", the brothers spent time protecting a baby. When asked the child's name, they each said a name, so ended up calling the child by both names. What did they inadvertently name the baby?

Answer: Bobby John

Dean called the child Bobby and Sam called him John. Clearly, Dean was naming him for the brothers' surrogate father Bobby Singer, and Sam for their actual father John Winchester.
14. "Clap Your Hands if You Believe" involved space aliens in UFOs that were abducting people from a small town.

Answer: False

The brothers thought they were hunting aliens for a short time, but soon figured out that it was actually fairies. The revelation came after a fairy attacked Dean and he killed it in the microwave, or as Sam put it, "pizza-rolled Tinkerbell".
15. In the midst of the broad themes of the soul and Purgatory, season 6 contained a lot of creatures that had not been seen before in the series. Which of these was NOT in an episode of season 6?

Answer: Werewolf

An arachne was in "Unforgiven". Dragons were in "Like a Virgin". Skinwalkers were in "All Dogs go to Heaven". While the brothers first thought they were hunting a werewolf in "All Dogs go to Heaven", they were mistaken, and no werewolves appeared in any season 6 episodes. There were werewolves in "Heart", an episode from season 2.
