After the funeral, Mr. Burns and Abe both take out a key which unlocks a safe on the statue of a Hellfish. The paper is taken out and Asa Phelps' name is crossed off the list, leaving only Burns and Grampa.

Homer sees the two of them leaving and wants to go with them, until Grampa says he can only come if he's "ready to stare danger in the face" and put his "manhood to the ultimate test". Homer is not up for this much effort, and continues eating as he walks through the hallway.

Grampa dismisses Burns from the Hellfish for trying to kill his commanding officer, and therefore claims that he (Grampa) should keep the paintings.
