Answer: The Kingdom

Henry lived in Washington, D.C. with his mother, father, and older brother, but his mother died at the start of the apocalypse. The remaining three were found by King Ezekiel at some point and brought to safety in the Kingdom, where Henry's father became a close associate of Ezekiel's and helped him in his missions. However, Henry's father died while on a dangerous mission with Ezekiel.

All of this happens before Henry's first appearance in season 7, episode 2, "The Well." Ezekiel begins looking after Henry when his father dies. Eventually, after Carol marries King Ezekiel, she adopts Henry as her own son. Henry calls them "mom" and "dad" and is sometimes referred to as Prince Henry.

Answer: Benjamin

Benjamin is a young knight of the Kingdom who dies in season 7, episode 13, "Bury Me Here." When the Kingdom is short one cantaloupe on its delivery to the Saviors, Benjamin is shot in the leg by the Savior Jared in retaliation. He ends up bleeding to death. This leaves Henry seeking revenge.

Answer: Morgan

Henry trains with Morgan in the use of the staff in season 7, episode 13, "Bury Me Here." He tells Morgan he hopes to surpass his brother in skill one day. In "The King, the Widow, and Rick," Henry follows Carol into the woods and kills two walkers with his staff.

He is shown using the weapon throughout his final season on the show. King Ezekiel is also known to have taught Henry how to fight with a staff.

Answer: Gavin

Gavin is a lieutenant of the Saviors. While Morgan and Carol are debating whether or not to kill him, Henry shocks them both by stabbing Gavin through the throat from behind with the sharpened point of a stick. Simon is killed by Negan, and Alpha is a Whisperer, not a Savior.

Answer: Carol

This occurs in season 8, episode 14. Carol is at first reluctant to go looking for Henry when he runs away. She doesn't want to repeat a futile search like the one she embarked on for her daughter Sophia, who ended up having turned to a walker. She's hardened her heart to avoid a repeat of such pain and says Henry's surely dead.

Carol has a change of heart, however, and this time the story ends well. She even finds Henry in a spot very similar to the one where Rick left Sophia - in a stream by a hollowed out tree, and she successfully rescues him. Another parallel with the Sophia story is that in season 8, Henry is played by Macsen Lintz, who is the brother of Madison Lintz, who played Sophia.

Jared is the one who killed his brother, so Henry has been wanting to kill him. Morgan lies to him and says Gavin killed his brother because Henry already killed Gavin. He hopes the boy will stop thirsting for revenge. Morgan later traps Jared and allows him to be devoured by walkers. Morgan delivers this truth to Henry in season 8, episode 14, "Still Gotta Mean Something," and the boy's face falls.

Answer: The Hilltop

Henry leaves the Kingdom to go study to be a blacksmith at the Hilltop. He wants to learn to fix the pipes in the broiler room and other deteriorating features of the community. While Ezekiel is reluctant to let him go, he finally agrees to let Henry serve as an apprentice to the Hilltop's blacksmith Earl Sutton.

Answer: Daryl

Carol stops by Daryl's camp in the woods and asks him to return to the Hilltop to look after her son. Henry complains that he doesn't need a "babysitter" and also asks "this is the guy?" Carol may also be asking this favor of Daryl because she's trying to get him to come out of his isolation in the woods and rejoin one of the communities, which he only visits to trade.

He does eventually go to the Hilltop with Carol and Henry and promises to look after the boy when Carol returns to the Kingdom.

Answer: Lydia

When Lydia agrees to return to her mother in exchange for prisoners Alden and Luke, Henry runs after her to find her. Daryl, feeling guilty because Carol entrusted Henry to him, goes to track the man and finds him captured by Alpha. With the help of Connie, he frees the boy, but he refuses to leave Lydia, so they take her in. In season 9, episode 11, Lydia and Henry share a kiss.

Answer: Alpha

Lydia is urged by Alpha to kill Henry to prove her loyalty to The Whisperers, but Lydia won't do it. In the end, she ends up running off with Henry and Daryl and Connie. However, when Henry and Lydia attend the fair in the Kingdom, Alpha and the Whisperers kidnap Henry and several others.

In season 9, episode 15, "The Calm Before," Alpha decapitates Henry and puts his head on a pike to mark the border to her land.
