Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When Jesus makes his first appearance in "The Walking Dead", what is he doing?

Answer: Trying to steal a truck of supplies from Rick and Daryl

Jesus makes his first appearance in season 6, episode 10, "The Next World". The episode was written by Corey Reed and Angela Kang, who later became the showrunner. It aired on AMC in the United States on February 21, 2016. He uses firecrackers to create a distraction in order to steal a truck of supplies from Rick and Daryl. This ends in a battle over the truck, which eventually winds up sinking into a pond. Later, Jesus shows up in Rick and Michonne's room and tells them he needs to talk to them.
2. Jesus is a member of which "Walking Dead" community?

Answer: The Hilltop

The Hilltop is a farming community led by Gregory. Jesus settled there sometime after the outbreak and became close to the leader. The Hilltop is extorted by the Saviors, who demands half of their supplies to leave them alone. After the Saviors beat to death a sixteen year old resident of the community, the Hilltop complies.
3. Which of the following roles has Jesus NOT played for his community?

Answer: Blacksmith

The audience first meets Jesus when he is on a supply run, as supply runner is one of his essential roles at the Hilltop, along with making contact with and forming alliances with other communities as a trade ambassador. He tells Daryl, "Part of my job is searching out for other settlements to trade with." We later see Jesus giving martial arts instruction to members of the community, and it is implied that guest visitors, such as Carol, also come to train.

After Maggie departs, she leaves the leadership of the Hilltop in the hands of Jesus, who is reluctant to assume the role. Earl Sutton is the blacksmith of the Hilltop.
4. In season 9, it is implied that Jesus may have developed a romance off-screen at some point with what other "Walking Dead" character?

Answer: Aaron

In the comic books on which the show is based, Aaron and Jesus are depicted as developing a romantic relationship. This is not shown explicitly in the show, though they do meet up in a clandestine meeting in the woods in season 9, episode 7 when their communities are no longer on close terms.

The show is not direct about whether they are merely friends or more than friends, but the actors who play the characters told comicbook.com that they "decided that their characters were romantically involved at 'some point' during the mostly unseen six-year time jump that followed the disappearance and presumed death of Rick Grimes," and so they played the roles that way.
5. Jesus sneaks onto Negan's truck and discovers Carl stowed away there. Jesus suggests they make the truck leave a trail they can follow on foot and jump out. What does Jesus suggest they use to make the trail?

Answer: Syrup

In "Sing Me a Song", Jesus makes his suggestion. Carl asks Jesus to show him how its done. Jesus pours syrup on the ground behind the truck to start a trail and jumps out, but Carl waves goodbye and heads off still inside the truck. However, Jesus somehow manages to get on top of the truck and hide there. Jesus stays behind at the compound while Carl is captured and taken inside, and he later leaves with an escaping Daryl.
6. To which other community does Jesus introduce Rick?

Answer: The Kingdom

Jesus takes Rick and his group to the Kingdom in season 7, episode 9, "Rock in the Road". They are met outside the gates by Richard, who reluctantly allows them inside to meet King Ezekiel. In the same episode, Rick follows a trail of footprints and ends up surrounded by a group of Scavengers. Tara discovers Oceanside by washing up on shore there. The Highwaymen introduce themselves to Jerry of the Kingdom sometime after Jesus is dead.
7. Which of these things does Jesus do LAST in "The Walking Dead"?

Answer: Jesus joins a mission to help find and rescue Eugene

Jesus hides Maggie and Sasha when the Saviors come to the Hilltop in the season 7 episode "Go Getters." He fights Morgan in season 8, episode 3, "Monsters". He tries to talk Morgan into coming back to the Hilltop, but Morgan refuses. The group loots the Smithsonian in season 9, episode 1, "A New Beginning". Jesus heads out with the group to find Eugene in season 9, episode 7, "Stradivarius", and the mission eventually results in his death.
8. Who kills Jesus?

Answer: A Whisperer

The group is in a graveyard when they are surrounded by walkers. They begin slaying them, but one ducks Jesus, pulls a knife, and stabs him through the back and heart. They later learn they are dealing with The Whisperers, a group that disguises itself as walkers by wearing walker masks made from the skins of actual walkers.
9. Who stabs Jesus in the head before he can reanimate?

Answer: Aaron

Jesus meets his death in season 9, episode 8, "Evolution". Aaron prevents him from reanimating in the next episode, "Adaptation", which was written by Corey Reed. The group carries Jesus's body back to the Hilltop for burial.
10. Does Jesus make any appearances in any episodes of "The Walking Dead" after his burial?

Answer: yes

Jesus appears in a flashback in season 9, episode 11, "Bounty". In the scene, Jesus and Tara ride up on Ezekiel and Carol, exchange pleasantries (Tara tells them she's left Alexandria) and give him the community charter, which Ezekiel tells Carol the communities will one day sign together.
