Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This mobile suit formed the backbone of the Zeon's forces, because it could be used in both space and on land.

Answer: Zaku

The Zaku was a mass-produced mobile suit used by the Zeon forces for the majority of the war. Usually seen outfitted with a machine gun, it can also sport a bazooka and often uses a heat axe for close combat.
2. This mobile suit was developed to counter the threat of the RX-78-2 Gundam. It sported a long beam rifle.

Answer: Gelgoog

The MS-14 Gelgoog was a better mobile suit overall than the Rick Dom or the Zaku. Unfortunately for the Zeons, too few Gelgoogs were deployed and were put in the hands of inexperienced pilots to make a difference. The most famous pilot of the Gelgoog was Anavel Gato, who resurfaced as the villain of "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory".
3. Shiro Amada piloted a Ball in order to help an injured GM mobile suit fight off a Zaku.

Answer: True

The above incident takes place in the first episode in the series "Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th M.S. Team". A twelve-episode series aired in early 1996, it followed the land-based 08th M.S. Team as they tried to derail a secret project by the Zeon forces.
4. What was the name of the mobile armor Char Aznable piloted in the last episodes of the original series "Mobile Suit Gundam"?

Answer: Zeong

The Zeong was put into use by Char Aznable, an ace pilot known as "The Red Comet", before it was actually completed. The Zeong could detach its arms, which were able to fire laser beams before returning to the main unit. It was the first mobile armor developed for use by Newtype pilots.
5. White Base was equipped with at least one of these suits, which was piloted by Kai Shiden throughout the One Year War.

Answer: Guncannon

The Guncannon, like the Gundam, had a beam rifle for long-range combat and head-mounted vulcan machine guns for close combat. The Guncannon was immediately recognizable because of the dual 240 mm cannons mounted on the shoulders.
6. The Z'Gok was built to operate in space.

Answer: False

The Z'Gok was an amphibious mobile suit used both on land and in water by the Zeon forces. With claws for shredding enemy mobile suits and mega particle cannons in the hands, the Z'Gok could reach a top speed of 103 knots in the water.
7. The GM Sniper II was first seen in which series?

Answer: "Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War In The Pocket"

The GM Sniper II was used to pick off enemies from a distance using a long-range rifle. To further carry out sniper missions, it also had special targeting sensors.
8. Which one of these pilots did not pilot the Hygogg?

Answer: Bernie Wiseman

The Hygogg was an improved version of the Gogg, being more streamlined and faster in the water. While the Gogg had mega particle cannons in its chest unit, the Hygogg had them in the arms, which allowed for more flexibility.
9. This man designed the RX-78-2 Gundam.

Answer: Tem Ray

Tem Ray was a brilliant scientist who created the Gundam. When Side Seven came under attack by Zeon forces, Tem's son Amuro piloted the Gundam and managed to destroy two Zaku suits.
10. This amphibious mobile armor was like a moving tank, because it had eight mega particle cannons on its chest unit.

Answer: Zock

The Zock was one of the last amphibious mobile suits created by the Zeon forces. Massive and slow-moving, the Zock's legs could not even move. Instead, it had to hover above ground and maneuver that way.
