Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. On "The Honeymooners" TV show, who was the zany neighbor and best friend of Ralph Kramden?

Answer: Ed Norton

Ed Norton was the original wacky neighbor. He lived upstairs and, despite being best friends, Norton always knew how to push Ralph's buttons.
2. "Green Acres" was set in the fictional town of Hooterville and featured the city lawyer-turned-farmer, Oliver Wendall Douglas and his wife Lisa. Which neighbor of theirs had a 'son' named Arnold?

Answer: Fred Ziffel

Fred's so-called son was in reality - a pig. A real live curly-tailed pig! He watched TV (he could turn the set on and off by himself), go to school and even play baseball. And he also had a girlfriend named Cynthia, who was Mr. Haney's Basset Hound.
3. The two main characters in this sitcom, Laverne Dafazio and Shirley Feeney, have two pretty odd-ball neighbors living upstairs from them. They are always barging in on the girls with a rather nasally "Hello". What nicknames do these two neighbors go by?

Answer: Lenny and Squiggy

And the sitcom is, of course, "Laverne & Shirley" . Lenny and Squiggy's real names on the show are Leonard Kosnowski and Andrew Squiggman.
4. Set in Chicago, "The Bob Newhart Show" featured the life of Bob Hartley and his wife, Emily. Bob is a psychologist who has all kinds of weird characters for patients (Mr Carlin, Mr Herd, Mr Peterson) but it's his right-across-the-hall neighbor who takes the cake. Do you know the name of this wacky fella?

Answer: Howard Borden

Howard was a navigator for an airline but he always seemed to be in a perpetual daze. He was always imposing on Bob and Emily by inviting himself to dinner, borrowing all kinds of stuff and even asking them to babysit his son, Howie.
5. This lanky dufus lives across the hall from Jerome Seinfeld.

Answer: Cosmo Kramer

Kramer is always bursting through Jerry's apartment door for one thing or another. His wild hair, crazy mannerisms, unusual way of speaking and his harebrained schemes put him high on the "Most Wacky" list. It was not until midway through the series that we find out Kramer's first name is Cosmo.
6. "The Jeffersons" went from having good old Archie Bunker as a neighbor to having this eccentric British chap as a neighbor when they 'moved on up'. What was his name?

Answer: Harry Bentley

Mr. Bentley was always dropping by George and Weezie's apartment with oddball requests. Bentley, known for having a bad back, asked George on several occasions to 'walk' on it claiming that Mr. J had magic feet. Now that is wacky!
7. In a suburb of Detroit lives Tim 'The Toolman' Taylor along with his wife Jill and their three boys. Living next door to the Taylors is a very eccentric but very wise gentleman to whom Tim was always seeking advice. From the sitcom "Home Improvement", who was this neighbor?

Answer: Wilson

So is Wilson his first name or his last? As it turns out, it's both. That's right - his name is Wilson Wilson and some of his cousins are members of the Beach Boys musical group. Also for some odd reason you are never able to see more than half his face at any one time. Odd, indeed!
8. This next-door neighbor of the Clampetts on "The Beverly Hillbillies" also happens to be their banker. What is the name of this money-loving, penny-pinching president of The Commerce Bank of Beverly Hills?

Answer: Milburn Drysdale

Mr. Drysdale has a huge ongoing problem. Jed Clampett is the bank's biggest depositor so Milburn tries to make sure he is kept happy. At the same time, Drysdale's wife Margaret loathes the 'hillybilly peasants' and is always scheming to get rid of them. Mrs. Drysdale is the original blue-blooded snob believing that if your ancestors didn't come over on the Mayflower you were a nobody.
9. On the sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond", who are the neighbors living directly across the street from Ray and Debra Barone that always seem to be a source of irritation for the couple?

Answer: Marie and Frank

Marie and Frank's last name? Barone. That's right - they are Raymond's parents and they are about as wacky and dysfunctional a family as you will ever see. Ray's brother, Robert, also lived across the street with his parents for several seasons until getting his own apartment.
10. The epitome of wackiness. These three brothers owned the Minuteman Cafe and were neighbors of Dick and Joanna Loudon on the sitcom "Newhart". What are the brothers' first names?

Answer: Larry, Darryl and Darryl

This show had some oddball characters but none more wacky than these guys. Whenever the three entered the inn, Larry would always introduce them this way - "Hi. I'm Larry. This is my brother Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl." Larry was always the spokesman and appointed leader of the group while neither Darryl spoke a single word until the last episode of the series.
