His first series was "East Side/West Side" in which he played a social worker, but it was not well-received. Twenty three years later he returned to TV with "Mr. President" that focused on the private life of America's Chief Executive.

This show also did not click and only ran in the 1987-88 season. Just a few of his motion pictures are "Anatomy of a Murder", "Patton" and "The Hindenburg". He passed at age 71 in 1999.
5. Mr. Belvedere

Answer: Christopher Hewett

"Mr. Belvedere" was a four-season sit-com (1985-89) that was based on the 1949 Clifton Webb vehicle "Mr. Belvedere Goes to College". In the TV show, Belvedere is a housekeeper and au pair for the Owen family - a working couple with three lively children.

His dignified approach to his job played against the rambunctious activities of the children provided much of the humor. There was a catch - the pills only worked on Beamish and only gave him super powers for one hour in which he brought criminals to justice.

In the oft chance he needed more time, he could take another pill as a booster for an extra 20 minutes of power. Besides the TV show, he also appeared in a handful of movies including "Fitzwilly", "All That Jazz" and his final film "Seize the Day".

He passed in 2006 at age 72.

The TV show which ran in the 1959-60 season, was based on a popular movie starring Cary Grant, to whom John Vivyan bore a striking resemblance.

His acting career featured appearances in a few movies, but mainly guest roles in many TV shows. He passed at age 68 in 1983.
8. Mr. Peepers

Robinson Peepers was a meek, unassertive high school science teacher who was constantly flustered by incidents in his job or in personal matters. A fellow teacher, Harvey Weskit was played by veteran actor Tony Randall and Peepers' love interest was the school nurse, Nancy Remington (Patricia Benoit). Cox gained exposure when he appeared on "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts" which quickly led to acting roles on dozens of TV shows, including providing the voice for cartoon superhero Underdog, and even a few commercials.

He was only 48 when he was struck down by a heart attack in 1973.
9. Mr. Deeds Goes to Town

Answer: Monte Markham

"MDGTT" was loosely based on the 1936 movie starring Gary Cooper. Monte Markham played Longfellow Deeds, a small town newspaper editor who suddenly inherits his uncle's prosperous business. He moves to New York to oversee operations where he attempts to reverse the results of the shady practices which his uncle used.

This series only ran in the 1969-70 season. Markham also starred in the TV show "The Second Hundred Years" and guested in several other series. He also performed on stage and in the movies "Guns of the Magnificent Seven", "Midway" and "Airport 77".
10. Mr. Roberts

Answer: Roger Smith

Another movie that reached the small screen was "Mr. Roberts" based on the 1948 movie with Henry Fonda in the title role. In the TV version, Roger Smith had the unenviable duty of trying to fill Fonda's acting shoes, which is perhaps why the series only ran one season (1965-66). Smith had previously appeared as Jeff Spencer, a private eye, in the TV show "77 Sunset Strip".

As well as acting, he also produced several movies and managed the career of his wife, Ann-Margret. He passed away in 2017 at age 84.
